5 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 Everything the facilities and the hosts. Staying in Lough Derg look no further, book Salmon Island View if you can. After leaving my review I’ve seen that other reviewers are leaving negative feedback re cooking your own breakfast but they need to bear in mind that this is not advertised as a B & B and the host provides this as a complementary and much welcomed addition. I found this superb value for money considering a double room was about €80pn for two people with a full Irish breakfast thrown in which would cost you €15 each every day and teas and coffee (which you can cook at a time that suits you free of charge). I really don’t know how she is making any money. Looking forward to visiting again next year, thank you so much Bernie & Willie

Our host Bernie was very welcoming, helpful & informative. The facilities were beyond what I would have expected. The bedrooms were well equipped with everything you need, a well stocked fridge with water, orange juice, fresh whole milk. Various Tea’s and coffee & biscuits. A microwave, kettle, hairdryer, iron. Mini boxed cereals also in your room. The bed was really comfortable and the room warm all the time. A large tv facing the bed with lots of channel choice. Great en suite facilities. On top of all that you had the use of a fully equipped kitchen which Bernie stocked up daily. This had various cereals, bread, bagels, soda bread, bacon, sausages, eggs, beans, black pudding and you cooked it how you liked it in an air fryer or in the pan. Microwave and toaster also available. A very lovely pellet fire kept the place extra cosy and with sky tv also you hardly wanted to leave the kitchen to see the lovely Lough Derg which is less then a 2 minute walk away. Amazing facilities highly recommended 5 🌟

+ Bernie the host was A-mazing! Once again the personality of the host is a key to a great stay + the common area - kitchem + the room + free parking

Bernie is a wonderful hostess, who will make sure that you feel at home from the moment that you arrive. Breakfast is semi self-service. There are lots of cereal and fruit options but also everything required for a cooked breakfast. It is extremely efficient and satisfying and great fun if Bernie is hovering about. The local pub is only metres away and is nearer and better appointed than a hotel bar if you were staying in a large hotel instead.

We loved it.

Our employees were pleasantly surprised upon arrival – they were greeted with generous refreshments and an exceptionally kind and helpful owner. After a long journey, this thoughtful welcome made a big difference. A heartfelt thank you for the warm hospitality!
