I have rated this property as a 10, but it’s important to understand that you are staying on a Reed Island with its limitations, but it also offers an amazing experience, unlike any other. You have a chance to be up close and personal with the life of these people on the Uros Islands. Isaac and Gladys are a wonderful, sweet couple who working hard to do their best to provide for their guests. The income they received from offering lodging is so critical to their success and their ability to send their son to college. They are deeply appreciative of our business. Note that on a Reed Island you don’t have full electricity so you won’t be using a hairdryer . There is no outlet, just one USB port. There is no Wi-Fi. The island is small and so there’s not really any place to take a walk. Isaac is kind enough to take you out in his boat that he made and show you the other islands. He takes you along as he sets his nets for fish. We went to lunch at one of the four restaurants in the Uros islands. When we got back to our cabin, we didn’t really have anything to do. I’d recommend bringing cards or a game. You might want to bring snacks because there is no place to get something to eat between lunch and dinner. I imagine if I asked for something Isaac would be happy to accommodate just as if I had asked for tea or coffee during the afternoon, but I didn’t do this. It seems water taxis are not readily available. Issac is more than willing to pick you up or drop you off at their little landing 20 minutes outside of Puno. It’s hard to call it a port as it’s not the main port for Puno. If you arrive in the evening, this little “port” is remote and appears quite questionable . Don’t worry that your taxi driver is hijacking you! Isaac arranged with a friend for us to join a tour to Taquille island, which I definitely recommend. Be flexible and understand that you are not in a normal hotel.

It would have been nice to have some available snacks in the afternoon and some games available.

Isaac et Gladys sont très chaleureux et aux petits soins. Les repas sont copieux et délicieux. La vue sur le lac et les autres îles est exceptionnelle! Isaac est venu nous chercher au “petit port” de Puno. Le lendemain il nous a fait faire un tour sur son bateau traditionnel en nous partageant sa culture et Gladys nous a montré son artisanat. Douche chaude, c’est incroyable !

Nous vous suggérons de prendre de l’eau potable avec vous, même si vous aurez en soirée un thermos d’eau chaude.

Isaac was the nicest host i ever had! Food was amazing and more than enough! If you come to puno you have to spend a night here!!

Herzliche Familie, die sich Zeit nimmt die Traditionen der Uros den Touristen näher zu bringen super leckeres Frühstück und Abendessen beste Möglichkeit um zu entspannen Anmerkung: Handtücher sollten mitgenommen werden, wobei das Duschen nicht ganz einfach ist ;) Wasser ist am Abend kalt und am Tag warm - Solarenergie Es kann nicht mit Kreditkarte bezahlt werden, sondern bar vor Ort. Paypal ist in Ausnahmefall auch möglich.

Es gibt’s nichts zu beanstanden Man darf nicht vergessen, dass man sich auf einer Schilfinsel befindet und somit nicht der typische Luxus erwartet werden kann

Zunächst mal sei erwähnt: eine Übernachtung auf einer schwimmenden Insel der Gemeinde Uros kann schwerlich mit einer üblichen Unterkunft verglichen werden. Beim Ausstieg auf der schwimmenden Insel erfolgt die erste Überraschung: wir betreten die Lodge auf wackeligen Binsenmatten. Es ist mehr Boot als fester Untergrund. Unsere Gastgeberfamilie war sehr herzlich und um unser Wohlergehen besorgt. Issac hat uns bei starkem Regen abends am Hafen abgeholt und frühmorgens wieder bei Regen zum Hafen übergesetzt. Am Tag gab es eine kurze Fahrt mit einem traditionellen Boot in Uros, dabei haben wir einiges über das Leben der Gemeinde gelernt. Unser Zimmer war sehr groß mit Panoramafenstern auf zwei Seiten. Nachts wird es auf der Höhe recht kühl, dank des mobilen Gas-Ofens, dicker Decken und Wärmflaschen war das aber absolut kein Problem. Wir haben das Erlebnis in der Titicaca Sariri Lodge sehr genossen und können es allen, die für einen Tag auf Luxus verzichten können nur empfehlen; es war ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt.
