Bon Sand Villa & Spa Hoi An

The host, Duy, is marvellous. Attention to every detail. Very good English, which helped a lot. Wide ranging breakfast menu. Best coffee in Vietnam. Loved the view, pool and balcony. Away from the busy centre, quiet and peaceful. Stayed a week and got plenty of much needed rest and saw all the main attractions of the Old City.

Needs a sign. Taxis couldn't find us; kept stopping two doors away that has a sign. Air conditioner struggles; just able to drop the temperature a few degrees.

Beautiful location overlooking the river. Stunning view from the room and pool. Run by lovely people. Comfortable bed, spacious room and good facilities.

Nothing.

A little sanctuary just out of town. The pool is an absolute win on a hot day (which is always). Breakfast was very generous. We stayed two nights in the old town and two nights here. It was nice having the old-town experience, while Bon Sand Villa is close enough to cycle into town on the bicycles they let us use for free. Not a lot happening on the island that Bon Sand Villa is based on, but not far to get into town. I imagine in time more and more will start spilling over onto this island but near old town. A little bit of birdlife in front of the hotel and a random water-buffalo :)

Felt a little detached, but easy enough to reach town with their free bicycles. No regrets with location. Neighbours played loud karaoke, but that happened in every small village we stayed in Vietnam. Vietnamese are disciplined to turn off between 9 and 10pm.

Beautiful place!! Everything looks exactly like the pictures but it’s even more beautiful and relaxing. Incredibly friendly staff, beautiful area and everything you might need.

The villa itself and the hospitality of the owners. It is in a quiet part of the "peninsula", you can get a taxi to Hoi An, but by my opinion- Hoi An is overrated and you can aswell just stay in Villa and relax. You have a pool, you can rent bikes and explore the surroundings, you can order some drinks and just enjoy by the pool or sunbathe on the beach-chairs and read books. Owners are really nice, the have cats but you never get in touch with them (the cats) as they are inside their room, but if you wish to cuddle them (if you abnormally miss your cat which stayed at home during your travel 😁), they will help you with little cat snuggling 😻.

I can't find anything that would not be OK, everything was perfect. I oonly have suggestions for the owner, so that the place would be even more exceptional than it already is. - Easy lounge music by the pool. - Bring the outside bar to life in a sense you could have "happy hours" there, maybe a table with chairs where people can play cards etc. - Offer tours with a boat, as the villa is basically nex to the river. That would be cherry on top of this already absolutely fabulous place.

There were some noises coming from the wood in the bedroom. We believe it can be termites, but we are not sure. It can be noisy in the middle of the night. We liked our stay, however, if you only come for a few days, it’s better to stay closer to the centre. If not, this is ok, you have Grab and complimentary bikes.
