The very warm, frank and open welcome of James, his family and of course Pandu, in a totally authentic tiny enclave in Mumbai. If you are going to visit Mumbai, you should do everything you can to stay at the Ferreiras

Authenticity

Location in a charming back alley, the host and the staff, character of the property and breakfast shared with the host and other guests.

Not a criticism but know what to expect: this is an old House with mod cons but not a polished/ soulless 5 star hotel.

Staying in the Khotachiwadi neighborhood of Mumbai was a truly unique experience. This heritage site provided a welcoming homestay experience for my family. James Ferreira.and his staff were kind and attentive. Breakfasts were extensive and extremely high quality. We enjoyed chatting with James and his international guests. Beds were very comfortable and lively, tasteful antique decor throughout the home, which we could enjoy over tea. And…A special “shoutout” to one staff member in particular — Pandu! So helpful and sweet.

Street noise at night (honking) could be loud, though even on busy Christmas night quieted down after 11 pm.

James var en fremragende vært. Han hjalp med lokale råd, og havde mange gode historier om stedet, som er et unikum og havde så meget sjæl. Han, og personalet var meget behjælpelige, imødekommende, og morgenmaden også super. Vi fik også lov at have vores ting stående en ekstra dag, som hjalp meget på praktikken. Ønsker man et autentisk ophold med sjæl og en nærværende vært, er dette helt klart stedet for dig/jer!
