Tranquil Garden Hideaway

The home is just beautiful in a beautiful setting, and the furniture provided is top quality. The bed was very comfortable and the patio area is lovely.

It said downstairs which I understood to be ground level, but no, you enter at ground level and go downstairs from there. I have a physical problem going down stairs so that was a downer. The funny thing is wheelchair parking is available. I didn’t read the description carefully enough to see it is a homestay with shared common areas and the bathroom is down the hallway. There is no privacy, the owners walk in unannounced. It seems we are lucky to be staying there instead of valued guests for whom everything is laid on. I had to ask for a hand towel, there are no bedside tables and no bedside lamps, we were told not to take food or water to our room and there were no chairs to sit on in our room to have a private area away from other guests in the evening. We have stayed in shared accommodation in the past but it’s much cheaper per night than this was. The price point indicated a better level of accommodation. The pool is down 5 flights of stairs which ruled it out immediately.

It was quiet and convenient but that is the only positive I can say.

Asked to remove shoes but I find it painful to walk without shoes subsequently I could not walk around garden. Owner is creepy. Bed too soft, no bedside table/lamp. I suggested that a chair to sit on to put on my shoes would be advantageous to myself and wife (we are in our 70’s), but no chair offered so we had to sit on a 10cm step to put on shoes. I couldn’t get away from there soon enough after our 2nd night.
