Church View House

Beautiful rural Devon in hamlet setting. Too small to be called a village. Sally is a very interesting character to chat with.

Could have done with a bit of guests space in the bathroom for guest's ablution equipment.

Host made extra efforts to meet my dietary requirements alongside a very early start. Sally also kindly kept hold of my backpack to collect at a later time to save me carrying it for the onward part of my journey. Really flexible and thoughtful.

Only stayed the one night but loved Church View House. Sally the proprietor is a great host and made me feel most welcome. My double room was very comfortable and spacious, breakfast the following morning was delicious. The location is very scenic and I would imagine if you are a walker that it is a great base to use to discover the North Devon countryside. The local pub, literally across the road, is unfortunately closed at the moment, but hopefully that will change as the local community are in the process of buying it- wishing them every success.
