5430 Happy Home

Dee is an amazing host and always has so much information about the city and stuff going on! This is my second time staying here and it has been wonderful both times!

It was very quiet and everything was very clean and orderly. The others were very courteous as well . The bed didn't look it but was surprisingly comfortable. Public transportation was very accessible.

Some of the lights (ceiling light in particular) did not work. It could use some updating but overall it was fine. The yard could use a trim tho .

As a solo female traveler happy home felt like staying at a friend's house. I appreciated that all the rooms have personal keyless locks. I didn't have any issues finding parking close to the property. I would totally consider staying at happy home again.

I like the co-host, Dee was very welcoming, helpful, he checked on me via text, as I was traveling alone, and riding my e-bike all day on Saturday. He is very friendly and accommodating. I had to lock up my bike out back and was grateful that the house I stayed in had a fenced in back yard. I like that everything was clean and that no outdoor shoes were allowed indoors, which kept the floors clean and you actually feel it when walking barefoot. I also liked that the bed was comfortable and clean.

There was only street parking. The street was a bit sketch. Both houses (they have 2) had overgrown veg, and when I first arrived, I thought maybe I was in the wrong location, I was a little nervous. At both houses, the accommodations were on the 2nd or 3rd floors, and the only way to get there was by climbing the staircase, after riding my bike all day, those stairs are tough on the knees and thighs. The last night of my stay, the AC was not turning on, and it was difficult sleeping in a room at 76°. There was an ac unit in the room I shared with a couple, but they turned it off because THEY got cold. I couldn't sleep so I ended up leaving at 5:30 am the following day 🤦‍♀️. I mentioned to Dee that room lamps and a fan in the room would be helpful. He was very gracious about it.

It was clear the boat put a lot of thought into the sleeping arrangements which lead to a safer and more comfortable experience. There is a lot of effort put into making sure the space remains a clean and enjoyable place to be, and it lead to ana amazing stay for me and my friend.

I'm a bigger guy and the beds available were a bit soft for me. I generally prefer having the option of a very firm mattress, but you can't beat the price!
