The Shooting Star Homestay

I liked that it was close to the beach, and the host was very accommodating and hustle. I was provided a fridge and water kettle to a boil water and the AC worked great. The outdoor seating area was also very cozy.

My bathroom had some mold on the ceiling, which was a little bit concerning, but I know, hard to control in this climate. Nevertheless, something to look at. It wasn’t that big of a deal to me because I could close the bathroom door and keep the AC going in the bedroom. So I felt safe in the bedroom, away from the mold.

Nice small family run guesthouse right at the beach. We loved the daybed outside and the super helpful and always smiling staff. Free drinking water and fridge in the room plus delicious lombok coffee are an extra plus.

The Shooting Star is a lovely budget homestay. It was basic, clean, and comfortable. Wayan, who made breakfast and cleaned, was lovely. It's conveniently located near a well stocked convenience store that also sells a good selection of wines, including a selection of bubbly! There's also excellent warungs that offered a variety of meals. Vegans shouldn't have any difficulty here.

This wasn't a reflection of Shooting Star, but make certain you pack thongs to wear along the beach and into the water. It's mainly rocks and pebbles leading into the water, and there's quite a bit of discarded fishing equipment. So, walking barefoot isn't advised. Also, it's pretty rural, so if the sound of roosters before dawn and various other animal sounds is something you can't tolerate, perhaps consider somewhere else. I love the cacophony of chooks, so it didn't bother me at all.

Great overall. Perfect location. Booked beach view room which was so good. Nice daily breakfast and coffee. Wonderful all around.

Not the fault of the property but I’m a light sleeper and there are roosters nearby who keep crowing very early starting at 4 am so had disturbed sleep each night. But if that doesn’t matter - all good!
