Ayana's Homestay

Breakfast was tasty and good , really enjoyed the stay with my family, you have to get on a kayak to visit the place to remember to take the necessary things and family was very welcoming , the boathouse boats also go from the same stream , so it's a beautiful view and peaceful experience. We reached the place at late night but the owner was understanding , a must visit place

Homestay directly at the river without street connection. You stay directly with the family and get home cooked food.

If you are looking for a “simple” stay, there is nothing wrong with this place. If you want anything premium, this homestay is the wrong place.

It was really one of our favourite spots in India so far, arriving by boat, the house itself is already really beautiful. The room and bathroom was spacious and clean! And we loved our time spending on the veranda, enjoying the view over the water. Deepa was an amazing host, who cooked amazing food (together with two other very lovely ladies). We had it all, breakfast, lunch and diner, very delicious! But honestly the best for us was the time we spent with her daughter, who really made us laugh with all her cheeky comments!

The ambience, scenic beauty of surroundings, host

Nice location right on the waterfront. Hosts friendly. Tasty Kerela breakfast. Comfortable room. Activities available. Stayed in fan only room with fan which was really powerful and sufficiently cooling. Reasonable food prices and it was all delicious (especially thoran!). I like their commitment to being eco friendly, but some aspects (bins) a bit annoying. Water refilling station was great. Laundry very reasonable price and quickly done. Not much to do in the area but it's a relaxing place to chill out and do some lovely walks in the locality.

Costs extra for wifi. Wasn't working for a bit when we stayed. A bit annoying that there are no bins in the homestay (might be a good idea to have recycling bin/ compost bin etc and guests could segregate and dispose of their waste responsibly, as otherwise it just gets taken back to the mainland and disposed of in normal bins with all waste together) Cooking class was nice, however both people didn't really get to actively participate at the same time like others we've done. Maybe a bit overpriced, although we did have a big lunch after!
