Mayuram Homestay

I was able to get into the room early, just after my night bus arrival early morning, which was super helpful and appreciated. The bed was comfy and the location superb. I only dealt with the restaurant owner from across the road who seems to be affiliated, but he was super kind and helpful.

Here it says that it’s possible to pay by card but every time I asked, the guy with the machine was away and finally, when I was about to leave, was told that there would be a 5% surcharge anyway. Felt I was pushed to pay cash. Also cleanliness was only to an Indian standard. Hairs on the towel and a thick cover of dust on the bathroom door. It’s clear that the focus is on the floors and the rest gets neglected. And 1500 rupees plus 200 in taxes was a bit too much, even on a weekend.

We stayed at Mayuram home stay for 2 days. The owner is super kind , friendly and made our stay hassle free. It is located in the city centre just near virupaksha temple so all the tourist locations are very close and you can get many restaurants near this place. It is very safe to stay here.

Property is very close to the temple and shopping area. This place also has nice restaurants around with varied cuisines. Pick up and drop was arranged by the owner. Special thanks to ‘Black cobra’ and Hussain uncle

It would be nice if there was better bedding for future visits

I believe I stayed in another guest house next door. The owner tried to charge me for the booking.com commission

The location was very ideal as it was just a 2-3 minute walk to Virupaksha temple and is also very safe . The owner was very pleasant and accommodated the requirements for late check-out and also arranged an auto for transport and sightseeing at a reasonable price. The room in itself was small but clean, perfect for a solo traveler or even a couple. Toiletries weren't provided but they could be arranged easily. The auto driver , Mr. Chiranjeevi , was very polite, friendly and enthusiastic to show around for sightseeing and also acted as a wonderful guide for the same. Would definitely recommend asking for his services when in Hampi. Overall it was a great experience, especially if you're travelling solo. Would definitely recommend!

Unhygienic and no proper ventilation clothing and beds

Very friendly family (& helpful), our room was nice, clean & we had hot water. Location was excellent. The homestay has a restaurant attached which served good food for very reasonable prices. All the buses & trains leaving Hampi are at night so the family offered us to keep our room for the the day, if we wished, at half the price. Location of this homestay is very near some good places to eat.

Bed was quite hard & noise from outside was quite bad as we had a room at the front of the house. This didn't bother us at all but when we arrived we were told we'd actually be staying in a different house across the road, which was the guys' brother's place (we weren't sure what was going on here but was a bit odd)
