Kandy Dilruk Homestay

Great location only 10 mins walk from the city centre. The room itself clean, great that there is a seating area outside the room with nice view. The mum who runs the place is very nice!

For improvement: Bad smell in the bathroom :( which came into the room as well. I woke up with stuffy nose in the mornings. Can hear people walking in the house above through the ceiling. The son of the lady made me feel very uncomfortable asking too many personal questions several times in a judgmental way about my marital status, why am I single, how am I gonna have kids, who is going to look after me when I get sick, these are very inappropriate questions to a guest especially bringing this up not once! Also he should not be messaging me 9pm on WhatsApp to go chit chat with him because he is bored. So more professionalism would be nice especially to solo female travellers! I didn’t want to bring down the rating much because it was a great place, but please improve these for the future.

I had a very pleasant stay here and felt very comfortable. The family was very helpful and a great example of Sri Lankan hospitality. I got the additional breakfast and dinner and was always satisfied. I can highly recommend this rooms for pleasant stay.

Very comfortable room with large terrace and with amazing view. It’s possible to order a dinner and breakfast- both were super tasty!

Location is up in the hills. Around 20-25min walk to the train station. Be aware of the dogs on the way to this place- one of the dogs attacked me twice:(

This accomodation has the most beautiful view we have had here in Srí Lanka so far. Our host was so kind and helpful! The dinner was amazing!

Host is very friendly and helpful. She helped us to prepare our instant meals without any hesitation. They care about their guests. Locals also welcomed warmly. And place was clean. Really worth for money. Environment is calm.
