Colonial Residence Kandy Boutique Bungalow

I highly recommend Colonial Residence to anyone visiting Kandy, as they offer exceptional hospitality. The Manager, Mr. Kumar, is truly a gem ,genuine, kind, and incredibly attentive. From the moment we arrived, we were overwhelmed by the love, care, and respect shown to us. They went above and beyond in making us feel welcome. They didn’t even let us carry our small bags, ensuring we were completely at ease. Our yoga retreat with 17 people felt like a home away from home. We practiced outdoor yoga in the compound, and the atmosphere made it feel as if the place truly belonged to us. The flexibility they provided allowed us to settle in comfortably, making our stay even more special. The residence itself is stunning even more beautiful, magical, and charming in real life than in the pictures. Every corner of the house was well-maintained and spotless, giving it a dream like vacation feel. Unfortunately, we arrived late and didn’t get to spend as much time there as we would have liked, making it even harder to leave. Before booking, I had read about possible mosquito issues, but we didn’t experience any problems. We had a peaceful night’s sleep, and the Sri Lankan local breakfast they served was absolutely delicious. The property’s landscape is breathtaking, surrounded by lush greenery that created a serene and calming environment. Even at 8 AM, the air was still cool, making it perfect for our yoga sessions. I strongly recommend this place to anyone looking for a wonderful stay in Kandy. A huge thank you to Mr. Kumar & his team for their outstanding service. You truly made our stay unforgettable!

The location is good. But expensive.

A lot of restrictions were there and the caretakers are after you which make us feel very uncomfortable. There were following us and a lot of CC cameras everywhere. Less privacy. When we were getting ready and taking our things to our vehicle one of them thought we were running away without paying. So he came quickly and asked for the payment which made me upset as he saw me carrying my luggages to the vehicle.

The Colonial Residence is beautifully crafted, maintaining its old-world charm. Despite being situated on the main road, it remains remarkably peaceful. Although the owner was away, he has a very helpful, genuine, and honest managing team taking care of all guests. The rooms and common areas are well-kept. Additionally, they offer a decent food menu if you wish to dine in. We would recommend this to anyone visiting Kandy.

The property is beautiful. The staff is very nice and cordial. The breakfast provided was also very tasty. We took one bedroom with patio and it was amazing.

Attentive staff, good breakfast, comfortable room and shower.

The rooms are a bit musty and the manager was not readily available. Location is on a narrow, winding road.
