Very nice price to quality rate. Great location on a nice walk from the beach. The people are very welcoming and the room was clean and cozy. Best bed we had in a month!

really lovely and peaceful place next to the lagoon and a 10 minute walk away from the beach. the host and his family were welcoming and kind - we went turtle watching to the beach at night together and it was an amazing experience :) also had really good srilankean breakfast and dinner there

This was a beautiful homestay I’m a quiet and beautiful location a short walk from the beach. The family I stayed with was so kind and welcoming and it was wonderful to meet them. It was one of my favorite places I’ve stayed in Sri Lanka because it is tucked back on a small dirt road and far from the town, it has a beautiful and quiet atmosphere.

Star Sun Homestay is the best Home Stay that I had the privilege to stay at in Sri Lanka. The Hosts are extremely friendly , and the family are so kind and humble. I really wish I could have stayed longer after meeting a certain family member - Sunethra Nandani , whom was so sweet and invited me for dinner one night whilst I was wondering around aimlessly exploring. After being charmed and having dinner with them , I shuffled my bookings around so I could stay with them for the night . They are a very traditional family who are very happy to help you improve your singhala or discuss the latest social economic issues or anything else you fancy. The head host also acts as a night guide to guide you down to the beach at night and see the Turtles! The food here is also great , far better than the larger hotel I stayed in Tangalle , The mama cooked very tasty real traditional Sri Lankan food! The location is also very good at around a 1km scenic walk down a small track to the beach , The home is in the middle of a naturally peaceful , quiet jungle environment, but also close enough to the main road if you are doing any day trips. If you want to experience real Sri Lankan hospitality and it's culture at its finest, then please stay here!

Leaving so early.

This is such a lovely place. Surrounded by nature (lagoons) and close to an amazing beach (in fact one of the nicest and emptiest ones I visited in the south), really chilled and quiet and an absolutely lovely family. Food is cheap and delicious, room is basic but clean and at a very good rate. The owner even took me to see the turtles at night, so kind. One of my favourite places I stayed at! Highly recommend!

I recommend this place to every budget traveler. You get a great value for what you pay, the location is perfect, sorrounded by nature, really peaceful, 5min walk from the beach and a street with a lot of restaurants an cafes. The family that run the place are very welcoming, and the rice and curries that the mother makes is delicious for only 800rupees per person! We loved to stay here :)

Bungalows are very nice and the price is unbeatable! The owner is so amazingly kind and always available for any request. Beach, restaurants and temples are nearby. Excellent experience, strongly recommended
