Villa Mata Hari

What a beautiful place.... it has to be the nicest place we have stayed in!! I had serious house envy!! It's spotlessly clean & beautifully maintained. The gardens are immaculate. Lia & Steve were fantastic hosts, so friendly and helpful. Lia's cooking is fantastic, her beef randang is second to none. I can't recommend this place highly enough, it's perfect!

The best stay at Bali, amazing owners, everything was clean and the pool is amazing. The nights here were extremely calm, so we slept werry well deffinetely recommend - 10/10 the owners helped with everything (dolphin tour, massage, motorbike)

The view of the ocean and Lovina, and the sunsets are exquisite. The property is beautifully landscaped. There are many birds, especially swallows that live there. The pool and cabana are so lovely. The property is terraced, so it is very private. The communal dining area is a wonderful place to know other guests and the amazing owners, Lia and Steve. Lia is a great cook and will provide delicious dinners for you. Her pancakes are the best I’ve ever eaten. There are many interesting places to visit in the area if you rent a motorbike or hire a driver.

loved how they maintained the place .. a beautiful villa, very beautifully designed and also very thoughtfully equipped with all necessary facilities.the hosts Lea and Steve are very accommodating and very helpful. Made us feel like home. They helped us find good restaurants for dinner and also recommended a lot of places to visit. They even provided us with wonderful breakfast.Highly recommend this place.Wonderful hosts and very comfortable and clean villa. Note: The living area and the kitchen area are shared and the pool is also a shared one.The rooms are rented by the owners of the villa directly.

We were greeted warmly by the hosts, Steve and Lia. They were kind and welcoming people, gave lots of advice, and helped us with planning our excursions around north Bali. The privacy of the property, as well as the spectacular views, make it a fantastic getaway spot in the middle of the Balinese hills. As a bonus, the food was wonderful. The Beef Rendang was my favourite.

It was the best stay we’ve ever had. Lia and Steve are amazing hosts, they were extremely helpful, friendly, nice and understanding. They organized for us everything we needed (transfers, scooter rental, laundry, food, tours and etc and everything was at the highest level). We felt like at home being 10k km away from our home. First we booked it for a week and then prolonged till our last day in Bali, since we loved absolutely everything about the place. The location is perfect and views are breathtaking: villa is built on the hill, you are in the middle of jungles and at the same time you can see the ocean. It’s a great place to explore the north Bali nature, since there are a lot of Bali nature gems such as waterfalls and rice fields in relatively close neighborhood. The villa itself is stunning, everything is brand new and super clean (we consider it’s the cleanest villa in entire Bali). We give the highest score for everything: location, food, wifi, view, cleanness, garden, pool, atmosphere, staff and etc. I would definitely recommend to book Matahari villa. We are missing this place and conversations with Lia so much and hope we will visit it again one day!

It was a pleasure to stay in the villa Mata Hari by Lia and Steve. They are very friendly and helpful, they helped us a lot with our trip and gave us many advices. We felt like home there, such as having time with friends and family. The villa has just 3 rooms, which make it really comfortable. The view at the villa was breathtaking and the room itself was also beautiful and clean. Especially the shower and the pool are stunning. If you like activities, they have also pool Billard to play there. Lia is also a very good chef and the cooking class was great with her. If you visit the north of bali it is a must have to stay at the villa Mata Hari! Thank you Lia and Steve for the beautiful time at the villa Mata Hari.

Our villa & the whole place was beautiful. The villa was spick & span. The outdoor shower with the plants was also amazing. Lia has such a great eye for detail and everything is planned & intentional. There are great views of the ocean to be enjoyed by the villa, pool or main area balcony. We had the 1br villa booked but essentially had the whole place to ourselves with Lia & her cute furry babies. This was the best accom we experienced in our 2 weeks in Indonesia & only wished to have stayed longer to fully enjoy the space (pool, garden, etc). We were hungry when we arrived & Lia gave us a drink & morish peanuts to keep us sustained until dinner. We had dinner here and had a great home cooked meal by Lia. Lia is a really lovely lady and we enjoyed our chats. She goes above and beyond to make your stay memorable. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here.
