Comfortable stay, quiet place. The hosts were very friendly, they helped me buy tickets from Hanoi to the island and back, and find a boat tour to the bay. The room is clean, there is air conditioning and a fan. Good breakfast. I liked them all! Thanks a lot!

Our stay at Rustic Homestay in Cat Ba was truly lovely. Nhe, Tang, and their adorable daughter welcomed us with open arms and made us feel like part of their family from the moment we arrived. Nhe made it her mission to help us with booking our activities and provided insider tips on exploring Cat Ba. She also had motorbikes we could rent! The rooms were spacious and clean. The homestay is located in a quiet neighborhood, providing a peaceful retreat after our adventures on the island. The homecooked breakfast served each morning was so delicious, offering a taste of local flavors. One of the highlights of our stay was the seafood hot pot dinner prepared by Nhe and Tang on our last night. It was undoubtedly the best meal we had during our time in Vietnam. As we shared stories and experiences with Nhe and Tang, we gained a deeper admiration for the Vietnamese people. Overall, our experience at Rustic Homestay was unforgettable, thanks to the exceptional hospitality of Nhe and Tang. We left with cherished memories, delicious coffee and some tears.

Everything is perfect in this homestay. The hosts are really king and helpful and the room is really confortable and clean. It was totally worth the price (200vnd/night) I highly recommend it.

Wonderful house and amazing owners. They helped with everything we needed (bike, trips, tips). The owners were very kind and shared very interesting stories. The breakfast was also amazing. Close to the center. Definitely will come back!

I had booked five nights and enjoyed a lot staying with the family. Nhan is very considerate, she does her best so that her guests have a good experience. It's worth taking time to chat with her. The rooms are comfortable, clean and well equipped. The (Vietnamese) breakfast was nutritious and different each day. The house is not in the touristy area, which gives you the opportunity to discover a more authentic area and see unexpected scenes (such as people doing karaoke in their living room :) ). I took part in the English classes, which take place on Friday evening and the weekend, and I loved it! Nhan booked for me the bus to come to Cat Ba and to leave, which was very convenient.

I felt some pressure at the beginning to book a boat tour with their company but then everything was fine. One of the 3 rooms doesn't have a window, when you book you may tell Nhan if you prefer a room with a window.

Lovely family with interesting stories on Vietnamese history and culture. Very new and clean room, huge comfortable bed (even if hard mattress), homemade breakfast. Gave us the good feeling to be integrated among the locals.
