"A very pleasant stay in a cosy, comfy room in a charming village."

8.0

It is probably best if they do not offer breakfast rather than packet food and then reduce the price abit.

By all means offer tea, coffee, fruit tea etc but leave out food for breakfast. Instead offer a shaving off the price per night? Other than that it was a clean, cosy room with all you needed. Also a brilliant location for exploring the area.

"Excellent stay at Counting Sheep, great access to Country Walks and County Pub to follow!"

10.0

Very cozy accommodation with all required essentials along with some nice extras with snacks and breakfast. Very easy access to great walks and just around the corner from the Crispin Inn. Would highly recommend.

Bed was a little too hard, but depends of course what you are used to or prefer!!

"Lovely stay in a lovely quiet village."

10.0

Really nice, warm and cosy stay. Clean and tidy when we arrived. Bed was really comfy. Located in a small quiet village with good pubs. Just what we were after.

Nothing to dislike as long as you aren’t looking for something spacious.

"We had a wonderful stay at Counting Sheep and will definitely return - thank you"

9.0

Wonderful find in the Peak District. Attention to detail was perfect. Complimentary breakfast and tea/ coffee a real bonus. Proximity to local country pub approx. 3 mins walk - excellent local food.

Very minor comment ...We arrived in the dark and found slight difficulty in locating the property due to parked cars etc.

"Our stay at 'Counting Sheep'..."

8.0

The location was great. Peaceful, beautiful and quiet. Lovely pub, 'The Crispin' around the corner and friendly locals. Found the accommodation easily by following clear instructions provided. We had been to Chatsworth Christmas Market followed by 'The Crispin' for tea, so arrived at 'Counting Sheep' late. It was great to be able to quietly let ourselves in. Accommodation is inviting and cosy. Lovely little welcome basket with plenty of goodies and breakfast items. Property clean, well maintained, great shower. Got a bit chilly late on but there was a little plug in heater to keep us warm.

The only thing that detracted from our stay was the mattress. Myself and my partner found the mattress uncomfortable. I'm conscious that people have different views of what is comfortable and after looking at other reviews it looks like there has been mixed feedback. My feedback is not on the firmness of the mattress but the fact that we could feel the springs through it. That aside, we appreciated all the finishing touches and attention to detail.

"Great base for our visit to the Peak district"

Cosy, quiet and comfortable room, great base for walking and exploring this part of Derbyshire, with 3 country pubs in close proximity. The welcome hamper was appreciated, together with the selection of magazines, local maps and information. Hosts Andy and Lisa very friendly.
