Fishponds Retreat Homestay

I received a warm welcome and immediately felt at home. A comfortable bed, thoughtful provision of toiletries, crockery, cutlery etc. A cool shower was most welcome on one of the hottest days of the year so far, and with skylights facing both ways there was a very comfortable through-draft. I was travelling with my dog, and we had a couple of very pleasant walks, evening and morning, in Eastville Park, which is just round the corner.

Guests need to be aware that the room is 2 storeys up and the stairs quite narrow. It's all worth it though when you get to the delightful room.

Helpful host, accommodation was just what we wanted. Comfortable bed. Tea & coffee etc all able and small fridge.

Lovely host, she accommodated us an hour before we were supposed to get there. Extremely good instructions and lovely area and room!

I stayed for the weekend and couldn’t have been happier! The room is spacious, wonderfully clean and comfy. There is a TV, a little library of books, as well as a microwave, kettle and toaster. Ensuite shower was great. Toiletries, towels and tea/coffee were provided. It is located 3 minute walk from the bus that takes you to the city centre. Pommy is also a lovely host who was flexible with my arrival and leaving times when I asked. Would definitely stay again, thank you ☺️

No Breakfast

I didn't take breakfast. An excellent Bangladeshi Curry house was five minutes walk. My room was just what I needed.

The second flight of stairs could deter some potential guests. No trouble for me
