Fishponds Retreat Homestay

The room was comfortable and private, at the top of the property with three skylights. It was well-equipped with kettle, mini-fridge, microwave and also en-suite. Also a small library of books. The host was friendly and helpful. We used the local rail station, Stapleton Road (about 1.5 miles walk). We were welcome with our small, well-behaved dog - fluffball.

It’s was a lovely clean space with everything needed. Quite and comfortable. Very nice decor.

Needs a visible number on the outside of the house. Difficult to find in the dark. Heavy rain was quite noisy as it's a loft conversion. Other than that very good and excellent value.

We didn't like not being able to lock our room door. Think that needs looking into.

The location was perfect for me visiting my son who lives on the other side of Eastville Park and was great for the dog being so close to the park. The room was decorated in a homely, artistic and boho style and had everything I needed for a short stay. It was very quiet, and the bed was very comfortable.

I would have liked to be able to lock the door to the loft and found it unusual to not be able to do this. The front door would benefit from a motion detector light when you approach, just so you can unlock the door without using your phone torch. The main bedroom was very clean, and nearly all of the bathroom, but the shower door and skirtings could do with a clean.
