Kuttichira Heritage Home

Interesting heritage-style rooms constructed from 170-year-old salvaged wood on very nice grounds. Close to backwaters in a nice, quiet neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of the town center. Star of the show, though, was the manager Sanoj who fussed over us, eager in his desire for us to have a great stay and get the most out of our visit to Alleppey.

The heritage-style rooms are super interesting but they’re dark (dark wood, lowish light). I wished there were mosquito nets but, by taking precautions, we didn’t seem to have a problem.

The breakfast was served as per our menu, and it was hot and tasty. The ambience of the place is very rural, though it is not far from the bustling Punnamada boat race finishing point. There were no mosquitos and food delivery for dinner was from Al Thaff restaurant in the town. The food was tasty and good value for money. The host, Mr,George, was good enough to give us soup bowls to serve the soup ordered with the dinner. The quality of running water in the taps was good despite being located in a marshy environment. That needs to be emphasised. The staff at the reception Mr.Sanoj was very helpful, which adds to the welcome factor of the resort. Overall, a place for a nice stopover while driving through Alleppey or for a day or two of rest while exploring the Vembanad backwaters. Best Value for money .. Highly recommended for couples.

Les chambres sont dans une magnifique maison traditionnelle en bois. Tout est propre. Le petit déjeuner est varié et délicieux. Un service attentionné et souriant. Merci ☺️

La bâtisse ancienne est très belle, le jardin également, mais nous avions loué une chambre plus basique dans l'autre batiment et celle ci n'a absolument rien de spécial. Je trouve que le prix demandé est un peu exagéré. De plus il y a des travaux sur la propriété ( nouvelles chambres en construction) ce qui a rendu impossible le repos durant la journée. Le petit déjeuner est ok. Le personnel sympa.

We had a wonderful stay at Kuttichera Heritage Home. Sleeping in a beautifully preserved 170-year-old traditional Kerala house was a unique experience, combining authentic heritage with all the comfort of modern living. The property is exceptionally well maintained and the sunset we enjoyed there was simply stunning. Sanoj, the manager, together with the owner and his family, were warm, discreet, and extremely helpful. Their hospitality was genuine and thoughtful, making us feel very welcome throughout our stay. It truly felt like staying in a family home rather than a hotel.

The staff at the Kuttichira Heritage Home were so nice and helpful. They were in contact with us on our arrival day and made sure that our room was cool and comfortable when we got in. They gave us lots of local recommendations on places to visit and food to eat. The room was clean, comfortable, and as an added bonus (for me), there was having plenty of hot water for the shower. The grounds at this place are so beautiful, be sure to check out the lilies when they are in bloom if you stay here!

- very friendly and helpful manager and staff - very nice surrounding - we could leave our backpacks after checkout - we loved nets on the windows, so we could sleep with opened windows during the night - nice indian breakfast (continental was possible as well) - actually shower in India which worked and hot water as a bonus ❤️

- maybe nicer update of the room (we stayed unfortunately in the newer building not in the historical) some decorations in the room would create the room more cozy - add more historical feeling there as well - we missed some hangers in the room - please check the handle in the bathroom, we won’t be open the door from the bathroom side

This place was a little out of the main town centre in a quiet neighbourhood, which was lovely. The hosts were extremely friendly, helping me with deciding what to do and booking taxis. The premises are lovely, with a nice garden area and breakfast was fantastic. I'd recommend staying here.
