The host family gave me a very warm welcome. I was allowed to try their food at celebrations, and when my bus was cancelled the evening before my departure, they managed to organise another bus for me for the next morning. A big thank you. The safari was also very well organised.

A lovely family runs the place and helped us arrange all of our activities. The hotel overlooks some trees and Prakash, the owner, is very knowledgeable about the many birds in them. Occasionally there were elephants in the street in front of the hotel and rhinos in the conservation center across the street.

For the price, it’s great! If you are in one of the front rooms, I suggest bringing an eye mask since the street has many street lights (to keep wild animals away from people at night).

Despite the outside and downstairs looking very worn, the family room was actually clean, comfortable and had good hot water. Organised bus ticket through the hotel.

We organised Chitwan trip through the hotel, a canoe trip, jungle walk and afternoon safari. For the jungle walk, we walked for an hour or so and then had to wait at a watch tower for over 3 hours for our jeep to arrive. No seating, which for a family with two 7 year olds in tow was a long time to hang around. I would shop around and maybe not do the jungle walk at this time of year. We saw very little across the full day (one of those things)
