Holly House Homestay

The room is large and clean. Just a short walk from the Ella strip. Ideal for short stay for budget travellers. Short tuk tuk rides to 9 arch bridge and Ravana Waterfalls is another plus. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay closer to the Ella town.

nice big room with all amenities, even a fridge a plate and some cutlery. A sitting area, coffee and tea options and a terrace. Nice bed with a duvet which was not superfluous.

lots of construction around the hotel. the hill is very steep and the stairs to the main street have high steps, quite a climb when you go back to your hotel. A light on the balcony would have been nice for when you want to go outside in the evening. The room is not cleaned during the stay, so I made my own bed (I have to do that at home, no problem 🤣) 1 towel was a bit minimal for me when showering & washing my hair.

Very easy place to stay for a short trip to Ella, room very clean and nice warm shower, good bedding and very close to the middle of Ella.

Very clean and quiet.

Size, cleanliness and lighting.

We did not have much contact with the owners and it is noisy at times.

- we haven’t met Holly but she gave us all the info over the phone (we asked for busses) that was very helpful - room was nice and clean, pillows comfortable which is always a plus - mosquito net available (could be a bit longer, as it doesn’t fully cover but we managed to adjust) - internet wasn’t amazing but better than most places in Ella - kettle available in the room, coffee and tea as well

- there is a building side right in front of the property. Not a renovation, but a building side, so there is a lot of noise from 8am till 6pm and will probably be for a while - after taking a shower suddenly an army of ants appeared and of course didn’t leave. That was quite strange as we stayed in different places in Ella and something like this never happened - quite a long and steep uphill to reach the place with backpacks

Clean room, comfortable. Location. It is a homestay, so there is a family living there, but they keep to themselves
