West Looe Downs

Breakfast was a 5 min drive into Looe the next morning, the owner informed us of a local pub with sea shanty men singing, he was very attentive and made sure our one night stay was a good stay. The bed was very comfy, the tea and coffee making facilities were exceptional and the room was tastefully decorated and there was a lovely bath too, roomy room and comfy too.

Nothing wrong at all. Easy to find, a 10 min walk downhill, very steep into Looe. Lack of taxis later on.

The host, David, was very helpful and welcoming. His local knowledge was excellent. My room was clean and comfortable, with a kettle and good supply of coffee and tea. The en suite bathroom was very clean, and the shower worked well. On street parking was available just outside the property and it is just a few minutes walk from the town centre.

The room might be a little on the small side for two people, although manageable. Access is via quite steep steps, which might be difficult for some people. The window faced the back garden, so unfortunately misses out on views across the Looe Valley which the other side of the property enjoys .

David was a real star , very helpful and friendly he gets ☆☆☆☆☆ my partner and myself become real good friends over the 4 days we stayed with him . We can't wait to go back and stay there again for a week . Thank you David we will definitely see you soon .

There is nothing we didn't like .

Kleines, aber freundliches nettes Zimmer mit allem, was man braucht, und mit angeschlossenem großen Badezimmer. Der Gastgeber David ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Unkomplizierter early Check war möglich. Sehr ruhig.

Das Haus liegt auf dem Berg in einer reinen Wohngegend. Wenn man als Wanderer unterwegs ist, muss man abends zum Essen noch mal runter zum Hafen und dann wieder rauf. Relativ weit weg vom SWCP. Da es kein Frühstück gibt, muss man dafür auch wieder runter bzw. direkt los und unterwegs frühstücken. Für Selbstversorger und Wanderer ohne Auto eher schwierige Lage, allenfalls für eine Nacht. Dafür verhältnismäßig teuer.

Excellent value for money. David is an excellent host, the recommendation for the salvation public house for food was excellent, so thank you.

Quite a few steps to get to the property. No issue for us as we already knew this. However you need to be mobile to access the property. Bathroom is slightly dated, however absolutely spotlessly clean and that the only thing I worry about so no issues at all.

David was very welcoming, we had a little tv on the wall which was handy and plenty of space to hang our clothes.
