Gading Homestay Ubud

Beautifully decorated, bed with nice bed curtains, good breakfast. Ketut is very nice. Bath tube is big and nice to relax in. But read what did not go well too! Terrible humidity and musty smell !!!

Humidity and musty smell in the room that is located on the ground floor. I booked on purpose 1 month before a room that is upstairs to avoid humidity & mold smell, I even sent a message to ask to really have the room on the pictures. They confirmed it ! And yet when I arrived they gave us another room that smelled bad because they accepted the request of extension from the previous tenant in the upstairs room that we booked. We had to sleep every night with all the door/window open to reduce the smell. But it meant letting the mosquitoes in :(. Even the wardrobe had a terrible humidity smell. So I kept my clothes in my luggage on the floor the entire stay :(. We had no time and energy to look for a new place during the rainy season (dec). So I do not recommend the ground floor rooms if you are sensitive with musty & humidity smell.

My stay at Gadings homestay was absolutely fantastic! The house is located in a very quiet backyard with a little jungle and a river passing by, which you can see from the rooms. It is in a beautiful area of ubud, 20 mins walk from the hectic tourist center. Nearby to the homestay there are lots of cute cafes, restaurants and shops, which is way more laid back and authentic. And of course the yoga barn is just around the corner. The room has good AC, hot running water, super comfortable beds and everything is very clean. Judi and his family are very welcoming and make sure you have everything you need. Judi’s mum is such a sweetheart and serves you fresh breakfast every morning on your terrace. You can also rent scooters that are in good condition. I’ve gotten all the relaxation I needed and felt very safe. I would always come back, thanks for everything!

Cozy accommodation perfectly suited for visiting Ubud and its surroundings. Yudi, the host, helps organize all the programs. The visitor gets an insight into the everyday life of the locals. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful.

The family is super friendly and the location is great. I forgot my water bottle and they kept it until I’m back to Ubud again, that was very nice and honest.

The room is very close to the mountain makes it smell very humid. And the mosquito net unfortunately smells very bad.

It was a really nice stay, the family is so nice and friendly with us. The house is clean and has a good vibe. Also, the breakfast is delicious.

The location is set back from the main busy roads, nestled behind the families own homes. We were lucky enough to stay in the room which has a balcony, where we ate breakfast every morning taking in the gorgeous view. The family couldn’t have done anymore for us, they took our order for breakfast each evening for the next morning and took care of our washing. Within the room there was a large tank of drinking water which we could use to refill our own water bottles with, which was really handy to have! The room lovely too and very comfortable.

Amazing experience to be hosted in a typical Balinesian homestay, with the possibility to see how they live day by day and see their Sunday’s rituals.

Such an amazing gem! Quiet and peaceful with jungle views all around. A short walk to the main streets, shops, restaurants in Ubud. The room is lovely, very comfortable, bright and clean. The family is very friendly, welcoming and helpful - they really made me feel at home. I'm very thankful that I found this place! My favourite place I've stayed in Bali!
