Gading Homestay Ubud

Yudi and his family are great hosts, they are always kind and very helpful. House is located in a quiet part of Ubud, but still close to interesting things. Breakfast is wonderful and always fresh. This place is a perfect choice to stay in Ubud.

Beautiful and peaceful

Room looks exactly like the photos. The location is 20 minutes walk from the loud and bustling Ubud centre which was nice as there were no noise at all. Breakfast was offered every morning at the time we requested. Host is quick to reply through WhatsApp. We really appreciated the incense in the room as my wife is a walking mosquito magnet and the smoke kept them away. Strong wifi, loved the mosquito netting around the bed and very nice family running the property.

Bathroom could be updated. On our last night, there was no hot water for an hour and when it finally came on, black water came out. That really spooked us. We stayed in room 3 and the door is a little wonky and we had trouble closing it as the two sliding doors didn’t properly align. The building goes down many flights of stairs and these steps are steep. We had a lot of luggage (heavy too) which wasn’t fun to bring up and down (there is no ramp) so would not suggest this location if you are travelling with a lot of items. Not a fault to the host or property at all, but thought I should mention that we got visited by 2 small geckos and they wouldn’t stop chirping all night and never left the room. Neither of us are used to seeing them so it scared us at first when we kept running into them, so keep that in mind as the property is close to a stream and lots of plantation so you may get little visitors.

Really nice and quiet place! Nice hosts, great room service, good breakfast. They took good care of us. There is a mosquito net around the bed which was super nice. The aircon worked great.

Bed was very comfortable

The staff tried to make checkout earlier than was advertised and were very difficult about it adhering to the advertised checkout. Disappointing.

The room was nicely decorated and clean. The family is very nice and always ready to help. Breakfast was good. They also had scooters for hire, which was great as we could get around Ubud very easily. Recommended!

Clean room, next to the Yoga Barn, quiet and cosy.

I got a much worse room than on the pictures, without any apologies and explanation. The room itself had a very stuffy air.
