Dambulla Sun Vsh Holiday

Location of this place is perfect to visit the Cave Temple (also 20 minutes walking to bus station in the center), but the main thing that made our stay there remarkable was Anu, her kindness and her family. The breakfast is variable and simply amazing and we also had twice dinner there; price is cheaper than most of other places in the country, but for the quality offered I would have paid even more. In the moring you can enjoy a tea in the patio watching monkeys and the humid forest's fauna vitality. What you can expect but you can't complain about considering the location: insects and cold water. They are really helpful if you need any information about public transports or places of interests, they can also organize private tours; we did book a safari with them and it was a nice experience.

If you like to organize everything on your own you can often find yoursef in the situation to politly refuse their tour offers.

The location was perfect for a nice little trek to the Cave temple which was why i was there. The family were lovely and the food was brilliant!

The best location ever in Dambulla!! The host family was simply amazing! Anu was extremely kind and cute and help us giving us many information about our trip, Pianta brought us around the city with his tuktuk and let us discover the local part of the city. The mum prepare for us incredibly tasty dinner and breakfast! The location is wonderful, in the middle of the forest!

The hosts were super sweet. They really tried to do everything to make my stay as comfortable and memorable as possible, including a free pickup from where the bus dropped me off and advices on where to go and how to achieve my goals. The room matched its price: it was simple, but cozy and clean. A socket distributor was provided for multiple UK and EU plugs. The breakfast was also simple, but plentiful and gave enough boost for the day. The terrace of the room is really nice. (And I can’t stress how friendly and helpful were the hosts, which is a big plus!) Both the main bus station and the golden temple are in a walking distance (around 900 meters).

There was no aircon, which is okay, because it’s not listed as a feature, but the two fans (one standing, one on the wall next to the double bed) didn’t do a good job either and the room was way hotter than outside. However, leaving the door open and/or opening the windows was not advised, so I couldn’t lower the temperature to my desired level. This may be just my personal level of tolerance towards heat, but be warned if you would like a cool(er) night sleep.
