Rheinischer Hof Duisburg

Booked and paid for three rooms. Rang a half hour before arriving to confirm because we were quite late and was assured all was OK. On arrival no rooms available! When we finally got the manager to understand that he had been dropped in it as well as us, he was very apologetic and gave a cash refund. Not much use at midnight in Duisburg. Hotel looked scruffy and full of migrants. Shan't be booking through Expedia again.

The manager knocked my door during mid night and walked in without permission. I could totally call the police. This is totally unacceptable. This hotel should be removed from Expedia.

There was no room available upon arrival. I am still waiting for the refund. The ownership of this place apparently changed two years ago. Do not book here.

there was no one responsible there at all , no reception and we waited there like 1 hour to find someone! the room was not clean , we asked them to come again and clean the toilet. the bed was not comfortable. the fridge was there but not working. the only positive point of this hotel is to be close the train station. that is it !

After payment I was supposed to receive an e-mail and text message with instructions on how to enter the hotel. Off-line check in, no person in check dedsk. Until arrival, I did not receive any message. There was someone in the hotel (speaking only German - the hotel offered contact in English) gave me keys, one towel and a roll of toilet paper. There were two more towels in the room (ages ago they were white) it was supposed to be for two people. In the bathroom, a broken tap on the sink (I took a video) Shower dirty, water drain blocked with unremoved hair. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Eines der schlimmsten, wenn nicht die schlimmste hitel erfahrung meines lebens. Vollkommen runter gekommen, absolut kaputes hotel mit kaputtem klientel. Die ganze Nacht gingen die Türen auf und zu und extrem hohes traffic in den Zimmern

Very helpfull stuffs

In terms of hospitality, accommodation and breakfast I can only say that this hotel is a hidden gem. Staff is incredibly friendly and gave us good tips for eating out and helped finding the right public transport to visit places. The room is clean and has everything it needs and a good hard bed...slep like a rock. Sole disadvantage is the taxi stand at the back. With such hot weather and windows open, the drivers kept talking during the night and that was very disturbing.

This is family run hotel. Location is good, approx. 500m from Hauptbahnhof and city centre. Hotel and rooms are old fashionated but for 1 oraz 2 night it's OK. Breakfast costs EUR 15 and it's better to go to the bakery which is next to the hotel. Hotel has private parking which is a plus.

We had a wonderful family stay here. Some of our favorite hotel amenities were the free parking next to the hotel, the wonderful breakfast (recommended!), the friendly and welcoming staff, and the spacious room. There is a laundromat a block away, and the hotel is within walking distance from the zoo, the botanical gardens (great for a morning run), the university and public transportation to quickly go anywhere else in town.
