"Impractical"

2.0

The views from the huts and the restaurantwas lovely, very quiet and peaceful

Roads surrounding the area very bad condition, dangerous for a moped with 2 people on it, it caused us to get a flat tyre. Road itself to the property very poor, had to walk it instead. Be prepared to drive at least 20 minutes to any civilisation which would be fine if on a main road but in the dark with the poor conditions was very stressful. Trikes charge you extra from the ports (800 pesos) to drop you off at the end of the road. Impossible to stay here if more than one person with luggage. There is no WiFi at the property which is fine but also no phone signal at all so is impossible to plan activities. Not even anywhere to charge anything so if your phone dies you're screwed. They don't offer free breakfast or anything which we thought would have been nice considering it is so far to get to anything else. We checked out after one night as it was too impractical for us. Probably fine if you just want a night or two completely away from civilization.

"Unique peaceful experience on Siquijor island"

9.0

Stunning location in the middle of the jungle/island, relaxed and chilled vibe. Loved the common area where I enjoyed nice food & drink with amazing views. Cute little hut with nice hammock area to lie down outside. Staff were so friendly and welcoming, went above and beyond to help and make me comfortable. It was raining badly on the day I left so the staff helped me drive my motorbike out as the track was slippy/muddy. An adventure to get to/out of but worth the unique experience! Just come prepared for the rocky road there 😅

The location is much more remote and harder to get to than anticipated… I was already aware of the last bit of the road there being rocky/difficult to drive but I didn’t realise it was as long a path as it was… there needs to be more clear signs and arrows from the road to reassure you to keep going as it looked to me like I was just going deeper into the jungle and not the right way! So I turned back to ask locals for directions… it was indeed the right way but just a bit further. I saw other guests stopping at same bit as me looking a bit lost so a sign halfway down the track would be helpful. I was driving here alone so found the whole journey quite tricky but locals were so helpful! I also did not realise there would not be a shower in my room so had a bucket of water instead which would be fine but the water pressure was not great so showering was difficult, no big deal for one night, I managed!

Complete peace up in the mountains. Rooms are quite large (larger than expected) with a cute hammock overlooking the hill. You can open the wall up right at the bed for a gorgeous view of the hills and stars. As soon as you enter the property, you feel like walking into heaven. Best pure drinking cacao they make on site! The owners are very friendly and open to showing you around to their edible plants etc on the land. Other guests were also doing personal tours around the island. The road getting there is attrocious, but you can park at the entrancce and walk the .5km in if you don't want to motorbike it (a beautiful walk!). No wifi, which is what we wanted for our stay.

The road is atrocious leading in so trikes won't go (either have your own motorbike at your own risk or park at the entrance and walk the .5km in (which is a beautiful walk past wildflowers and jungle!).

"Very spartan place BUT highlight of our trip"

8.0

Very spartan back to basic hut, with a mosquito net full of holes, a small bed for two.... BUT wow what an amazing place! It is so serene, lush of green. Everything is set around their communal restaurant set in the forest jungle, with great food all day, a huge old mango tree where you can hang out in the shade, friendly family staff. This was one of our highlights of our trip.

Booking info states there is a seperate living room and a sleeping couch. There isn't. What you see is what you get. Also the bathroom is very spartan.

"Beautiful serene view rustic place with lovely owners and staff."

9.0

Beautiful secluded place with rustic bohemian huts in traditional style. A very beautiful location in the middle of the forest. You can see fireflies and geckos and listen to the silence and birds. I enjoy my stay a lot. Very friendly staff and good food especially the herbal tea. They sell their own cacao bean brew. I loved the garden and the view from my room. The last bit of the road is a bit tricky but possible to go with the scooter slowly. Would love to see some vegan choices for breakfast.

"Wonderful place with beautiful people."

10.0

This place is an escape from normal life! It’s in the middle of nature and the family is really kind. The food is great and it’s easy to meet people in the restaurant.

We found it the charm of the place really going back to basics but don’t expect any luxury. I read in previous comments the road to get here is bad but the roads are fine it’s only the last part to the hostel that is a bit bumpy. I’m not good on a motorbike but was fine to get there.
