Ferndale Homestay

Total experience was good. Aunty and uncle are very humble and nice. They made our stay very comfortable and kept us as family. I used their kitchen for my daughter in late hours, even they boiled milk and kept it for my little one. They both were very generous. Room was clean and tidy. Hot water was available all the time. Thank you Ferndale for making our stay easy with our toddler.

Lights in the room are very dull and wall colours are very dark. I think this shouldn't be an issue with everyone but it annoys me. That's it otherwise everything was good.

Mr.and Mrs. Fernandez is so much supportive, sympathetic, always smiling. Kept continuous contact, arranged all the cars, jeep and even home delivery of our lunch from a very good restaurant too, for which we are grateful. Beautifully decorated modernized property ornamented with hundreds of flowering plants. Open terrace and balcony is most enjoyable. Stay in the backside room on the first floor, feels like being in a beautiful Jungle. The lush green view from the room and the corridor is marvelous. The front side rooms have a beautiful living cum dining area ornamented with numerous hanging planters ; multicoloured flowers are smiling there. The most unique add-on feature here are the small library, anyone can pick a book of his choice for reading. Service was top- notch. Sufficient quantity of Pure drinking water is provided. Even hot drinking water was provided as requested in almost no time . Our room was big, airy with clean toilet and comfy beds. Many uncommon birds were seen in the numerous trees adjacent to the room. Sounds of many more insects and birds was enchanting. It creates a rare forest-stay feeling. The enthusiastic couple gave their hands to plant a tree in their own garden as a gift from me . It was the 1007th tree planted by me. They also adopted my 1008th child,a small Banyan sapling, promised to nurture and plant it in the proper place later . I am cordially grateful to them for this noble gesture.

A little bit far from the main market, no utility goods are available nearby. Food is not available in the home stay .

Its very homely environment. Uncle and aunty was so humble and loving that we feel here like home . And even facilitate were good too.

Overall it was very good.

Ferndale is a great place to stay. Located in a lush and quiet neighbourhood. Dexter and Debby have been very thoughtful hosts. I highly recommand Ferndale if you're looking for a homestay in the Kumily / Thekaddy area.

Everything about this homestay was awesome. The owner Mr. Dexter and his wife are very amiable people, and very very helpful. They gave us many helpful suggestions to visit the places in Thekkady. The morning tea and coffee provided by Mr. Dexter were very helpful and a good booster for us to start the day. We will come back to Ferndale again if we visit Thekkady again. Thank you Mr. Dexter. :)

Great location, lovely hosts, friendly, welcoming and really helpful, nothing too much trouble. Immaculate room, soft bed, clean linen. Lovely terrace. Excellent accommodation.
