The Boat Homestay and Spa

Don't be put off by the location, this place is awesome, and the town has lots of nice places to get coffee and food right on the lake. The owners were amazing, super helpful, and went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing time. They took us out on the lake paddleboarding which was amazing. The staff were quiet but lovely and helpful! The spa was also great. I really think this place has so much potential - quiet, serene, and with great motorbiking and lake activities on the doorstep. Hopefully they get lots more tourists!

Thr room was clean, the water heater was good.

The curtains in the room was tranparent, we felt like we have no privacy.

Hotel staff is quite young, however they tried their best to accommodate my inquiries.

May need some experienced staff to guide the younger ones.

Breakfast was good enough (taste/quality wise). The vibe was wonderful: the hotel gave wonder caused by beautiful natures of surroundings. The room had simplicity: nature-based, clean and noise-free room. The location is proximity to the town center. Staff was helpful and friendly.

The water heater did not work well, producing erratic volumes of warm-cool water. Experienced around 30 minutes of totally dark due to the sudden electricity shut down. Vent-holes are limited in size.

Honestly, I had a phenomenal experience at both the hotel and in Balige. The food was delicious, the staff friendly, and the environment beautiful. If you are considering whether or not to stop into town, I highly recommend that you do! Make sure to bring your smile and an open mind—because the locals will welcome you with open arms. Thank you for the excellent experience.

The only minor gripe that I have is the hotel being a tad far from the center of town. Other than that, though, the experience was terrific!

Lovely place. So good sandwiches in breakfast (in European style). Lovely staff. Not too far from city centre. 10mins walk to bigger supermarket(bigger that small street shops). Super nice and helpful owner. Restaurant with quite good prices

Staffs English should be improved (prepare translator if you don't speak Indonesian) A bit difficult to find it, should make any signs that it's Homestay there as well not just pizzeria

this place is really underrated, to the point that i need the urge to tell everyone that this place is actually an amazing place. if you like nature, then you can take a rest here. the view is amazing, far from the crowd, and you will get semi private vibes here even when this place next to the main road. you will hear the river sound under your room, and wind blow from the trees in front of your room. when it's in the morning, came to the spa lobby to have a breakfast. bird chirping and the sunrise will welcome you there. the staff is really amazing, very friendly and wouldnt hesitate to help you. the room is really clean, and they have a hot water too!
