We had a lovely time at Meyske’s homestay. We were there for 2 nights and took a rest day and she made us feel right at home. The homestay feels like an airy tree house, close to the sounds of nature with a beautiful common area/living room complete with a balcony overlooking the traditional Tongkonan village in front of the house. The home cooked food was outstanding, especially the dinners prepared by her and her mom. Meyske is also a very knowledgable tour guide and she was super helpful arranging the transit up to Lore Lindu National Park for us. 5 out of 5 stars, if you’re in the Tana Toraja do stay at Ne Pakku Manja!

Wir hatten einen außergewöhnlichen 3-tägigen Aufenthalt bei Meyske und ihrer Mutter. Die beiden sind mit ihrer liebevollen und persönlichen Art unglaublich warmherzige Gastgeber, die jeder Zeit engagiert sind, einem den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu machen. Dabei bekochen die beiden ihre Gäste abwechslungsreich und lecker. Wir hatten zwar nur mit Frühstück gebucht, haben aber jeden Abend bei den beiden gegessen und die Küche sehr genossen. Die Zimmer sind einfach aber es ist alles da was man braucht. Wer komplette Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit sucht, ist hier wahrscheinlich fehl am Platz. Die Räume sind nach oben offen, der eine oder andere könnte sich gestört fühlen - für uns war das keine Problem. Das Homestay ist sehr geschmackvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet - das ganze in einem originalen Toraja-Haus. Wer sich hier nicht wohlfühlt macht irgendetwas falsch. Meyske war aber neben der Gastgeberin auch unser Tourguide für drei wirklich einzigartige Tage - man würde besser sagen ein Repräsentant und Vermittler ihrer Kultur. Wenn man bereit ist, tiefer in die Kultur der Toraja einzutauchen, wird von Meyske mit viel Liebe und Empathie an die Hand genommen. Dabei geht sie auch auf die persönlichen Empfindungen ihrer Gäste ein. Wir waren wirklich von der Kultur der Torajas und im Speziellen Meyskes Art der Darstellung tief beeindruckt. Meyske baute in den drei Tagen die Geschichte behutsam auf, um einem den Totenkult und die Kultur der Torajas möglichst verständlich um umfassend näher zu bringen - es ist ihr wahrlich gelungen. Auf Fragen ist sie immer eingegangen. Sicher gäbe es noch viel zu entdecken und zu erfahren, dafür reicht dann aber die Zeit leider nicht. Das wäre sicher ein guter Grund, irgendwann einmal wieder zu kommen. Wir haben Meyske und ihre Mutter als Freunde verlassen und in unser Herz geschlossen. Wir werden sie sicher irgendwann irgendwo wieder treffen.

Abbiamo alloggiato in questa homestay nel nostro viaggio alla scoperta della terra Toraja. L’atmosfera qui è incredibile, gestita con amore da Meyske e dalla sua meravigliosa mamma, che ci hanno accolti e coccolati fin dal primo momento. Non potevamo scegliere posto migliore.

Tutto. E’ stato come sentirsi a casa ! Meyske e sua madre sono state delle ottime padrone di casa , sempre disponibili e attente nello spiegare questa meravigliosa cultura . Cene e colazioni ottime preparate con cuore e cura . Ambiente pulito e ordinato .consiglio vivamente

We loved our stay in Meskey 's homestay. If you like authentics places , kindness and help full relations, it's the good adress ! Meskey and her mother are also the best cookers we found in Sulawesi. Breakfast and dîners were various and so delicious. And cherry on the cake, it's the best place to find your guide and discover Torajas culture and traditions with many details. Meskey share her story with a lot of emotions and a great humanity. Be sure you won't regreat. Have a nice Time in her place as we had. It's the place to be !!!

Das Guesthouse/ Homestay war mit Abstand die beste Unterkunft, die wir bisher auf unserer Sulawesi-Reise hatten. Für einen Homestay sehr komfortabel und liebevoll dekoriert, und an alles gedacht. Besonders gefallen hat uns die sehr persönliche Art der Gastgeberin Meyske und ihrer Mutter. Folgendes ist besonders positiv hervorzuheben: die Integration aller Gäste durch die Gastgeberin(wir hatten eine wirklich tolle Gruppe, die sich dort gefunden hat), eine sehr abwechslungsreiche Küche (jeden Abend gab es mehrere, toll schmeckende Speisen, wie wir sie so auf keiner Speisekarte in Restaurants oder Warungs gesehen haben), und darüberhinaus war Meyskes Hilfsbereitschaft kaum zu toppen. Sie hatte Ideen für Ausflugsziele, hat uns geholfen, Transport und weitere Unterkünfte zu organisieren und stand per WhatsApp immer für einen Rat oder Unterstützung zur Verfügung. Wir haben zusätzlich noch Touren mit Meyske als Guide gebucht, die wir unbedingt empfehlen können. Ihr ausgezeichnetes Wissen über Kultur, Religion und Leben der Toraja vermittelt sie auf eine sehr angenehme Weise in ausgesprochen gutem Englisch. Unbedingt machen!

Welcomed into a real family home. The common area is cosy and inviting, it encourages guest to gather and mingle. Dining at a large table creates a sense of community. The included breakfast and optional dinners are delicious and plentiful. Meyske, the host, is also a guide. She is passionate and articulate in sharing fascinating aspect about Toragan culture and customs. She is authentic, friendly and knowledgeable. She describes the features of the home accurately. The accent in on culture and community. The stay provided a memorable experience and ongoing connection with other travelers. Exceptional.

Amazing place. Meyske and her mother made me feel at home. Meyske is an incredible person who makes the guest feel part of her family. Cannot miss a tour with her: she is so passionate for her culture and she really involves u in the Toraja traditions. Unforgettable experience! And amazing food!!!

I did book it because of the pictures and did not dissapoint a bit. Meyske was warm and welcoming and eager to help with everything. The location is a bit outside Rantepao but with the most stunning backyard. She made most coziest homestay with great interior!
