The hospitality here is outstanding. Lasantha, the host, goes above and beyond to ensure guests have everything they need, whether it’s giving directions, arranging transport, or answering questions. He even owns a tuk-tuk and is more than happy to take guests on sightseeing tours for a reasonable price. He took us to Sigiriya Rock for sunrise and Pidurangala Rock for sunrise, waited for us and then bought us back. His wife is equally wonderful, serving up a variety of delicious breakfasts every morning. Their warmth and kindness are evident in every interaction. She even made dinner for us one evening which was lovely. Throughout our stay, they continued to offer thoughtful gestures like assisting with laundry and checking in regularly. They were always just a message or call away whenever we needed anything. It’s truly rare to find such attentive and considerate hosts. The room itself was clean, with aircon and hot water, and a lovely balcony space to sit in. There is also a pool! All for a fraction of the cost of a hotel.

Our room with the verandah opposite the main house was lovely and comfortable. The pool was clean and refreshing and the breakfasts were great. The Owner took us in his tuk tuk on a couple of excursions to Dambulla cave temple and we also climbed Pidurangala. It was a convenient way to get around the area. He also took us to see elephants from the road which was incredible, we saw so many without the high prices of the safari.

The dogs outside the house were fighting and very noisy in the night which kept us awake.

Heerlijk grote villa met geweldige bedden en douche. Fijn zwembad en op loopafstand van alle restaurants. Prima ontbijt.

De houten ligstoelen hebben geen dekjes dus liggen niet comfortabel. Makkelijk te verbeteren.

Ich bin für 2 Tage auf meiner zweimonatigen Radreise durch Sri Lanka untergekommen und mein Aufenthalt war sehr schön. Das Zimmer ist wunderschön mit den hohen Decken. Die Matratze ist super bequem und das Zimmer sowie Badezimmer ist sehr sauber. Ich hatte Zugang auf die schöne Terrasse. Auf dieser wurde jeden Morgen ein leckeres Frühstück serviert. Der Pool ist sehr neu und sauber. Man kann schön entspannen und die Vögel hören. Die Gastfamilie war sehr bemüht. Ich konnte sogar früher einchecken. Die Unterkunft ist mitten im Grünen und liegt 5-10 Gehminuten von der Hauptstadt entfernt. Ich habe meinen Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Dankeschön

The cabana stay was especially wonderful: a charming and peaceful wooden cabin with air conditioning, located right next to the pool, offering the ideal spot to unwind. The atmosphere at the homestay is calm and serene, surrounded by nature, with the sound of birds in the background. At the same time, it’s just a short walk to the village center, where local shops and authentic Sri Lankan food spots can be found. It’s the best of both worlds: the energy and flavors of local life within reach, while being able to return to the quiet comfort of the homestay to truly relax. The hospitality here is truly exceptional. Lasantha, the host, is incredibly helpful and accommodating, always ready to assist with directions, arrange transport, or answer any questions. He even has his own tuk-tuk and is happy to take guests around sightseeing for a fair price whenever interested. If he’s not available, he makes sure an alternative is arranged. His wife is equally lovely, preparing delicious breakfasts each morning, every day something different and special. Their warmth and kindness are felt in every interaction. Even during a longer stay, the care continues, they kindly offered help with laundry, checked in regularly, and were always just a quick message or call away when something was needed. It’s rare to find hosts this attentive and thoughtful. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a heartwarming, peaceful, and authentic stay in Habarana. A true gem, thank you for everything!

Destacar la amabilidad y dedicación del personal en todo momento por hacer tu estancia cómoda en su pequeño hotel. En mi caso llegue a Habanara en tren y me recogieron desde la estación sin coste extra contactando incluso conmigo durante el trayecto para ver si todo estaba según previsto. Lo que mas me gusto y me sorprendió fue la piscina que tienen que después de realizar visitas culturales o de Safari viene bien para relajarte y descansar. En mi caso también tenia incluido desayuno que me servían dependiendo de mi horario y que incluía desde fruta algo bollería, huevo y café pero cada día era distinto.

Heel mooi huisje vlak naast het zwembad. Het zwembad is nieuw en erg proper, een echte meerwaarde in dit warme weer, perfect om af te koelen. Ook fantastisch was de rit met Lasante om olifanten te gaan kijken. We zagen twee families de straat oversteken, iets om nooit meer te vergeten. Hij brengt je ook naar bezienswaardigheden in de buurt tegen een correcte prijs.

Lasantha e sua moglie sono le persone più gentili incontrate in Sri Lanka, paese noto per la gentilezza della sua gente. La piscina è favolosa: dopo le mattine passate a visitare il triangolo culturale, una benedizione! L’alloggio è situato in mezzo alla natura, è possibile sentire gli animali. Nel pomeriggio, l’host ti dà la possibilità di fare un “road safari” per cercare anche gli elefanti! Colazione ok, preparata da loro all’orario che desideri. Un gioiello!

The pool was a dream in the heat! The owners were really great people, super helpful. No matter what the question or concern. They always helped. Organized a TUKTUK a Safaritour or a Scooter! The bed was super comfortable!!!! I loved enjoying the delicious breakfast on the balcony and in the evening there were fireflies.

Everthing was good!

The room was great and the AC and hot water worked perfectly. The breakfast, which you can eat on the terrace outside the room, was ok but not the best one I had in Sri Lanka. You will however get full (and there are fresh fruit). The guesthouse offers tuk-tuk transportation.

The only thing that was a bit difficult was the english communication. We had some misunderstandings but this can all be solved with google translate and didn‘t affect the stay.
