"Lovely people, down to earth and nothing was too much trouble."

Both Patrizia and Paolo were fantastic hosts! We had a very early ferry trip from La Spezia one morning and Paolo kindly was up at 5.30am to drive us to the station for less than the cost of a local taxi. The room was great and we stayed 3 nights with them. There is a lovely walk thru the countryside via lanes etc to two restaurants. (about 20mins) Bus runs into Lucca regularly. Highly recommended if you want that country feeling and not wanting to be right in Lucca. Had a light meal and wine in their lovely garden.

Authentic Italian property

If you’re a solo traveller just be aware that it is kind of in the middle of nowhere down a tiny track road so if you’re nervous at all or your mind wanders this may not be ideal for you as I also, as far as I’m aware, was the only person staying and it is a gentleman’s house who lives there. Saying that, said gentleman was very pleasant and gave me absolutely no reason to be nervous and we communicated through Google translate as I don’t speak Italian.

"Lovely host and location and great price. Just need to address issue if it is very hot time of year"

The host was very welcoming and helpful. The place was clean. It is a bit out of the town of Luca so need to have your own transport.

The only issue was no air conditioning and it was very hot and no fan was offered.
