"Got better after we hit the highway."

2.0

I liked the smoothie at the smoothie place. I liked the young man at the gas station who allowed us to park there and got us some water bottles a short sprint away with no expectation of a tip. He got one.

Bucket shower, power out 4-12 daily. Room for sleep and bathing only. No internet while power out. Port Barton in general not worthy of an overnight stay. Bad streets/infrastructure, restaurants, accommodations, stray dogs/poop typical of Palawan. Beach sucks. Nightlife lame. Too many damn dirty hippies and expats on a thin budget wondering why they came here.

"Neodporúčam"

1.0

"No water"

4.0

The property is in a good location, in the centre of the town.

We didn’t enjoy our stay here at all. Most of the time we were there we had no running water at all. The owner only turns it on at around 5pm which meant we couldn’t shower, wash our hands or flush the toilet until then. There is a power cut out in port Barton right now so power is cut off between 4am and 12am so when we woke up in the morning we would be so hot and sweaty and we couldn’t even have a shower to cool down. When the water was turned on, it didn’t come out of the shower head so we had to use the tap to fill up a bucket of water to wash ourselves. The flush also didn’t work so we had to use a bucket to flush it. The room would smell because of us not being able to flush the toilet when the water was turned off. We just felt so dirty throughout our stay here. They can’t even blame the local water supply because none of our friends had problems with water in their hostels and all the restaurants and bars had water. I don’t understand why they would turn off the water for their guests, it is a basic necessity. The mattress was also super thin, it was more like a mattress topper than a mattress so was quite uncomfortable. There was no mirrors in the room, not even the bathroom. And there was no bin other than the tissue bin.
