Peak House

This was the nicest place that we stayed in. The staff were lovely, the room was fantastic, the location suited us perfectly. A nice walk to the centre of things, but peaceful where we were. A lovely restaurant called Freedom restaurant just opposite did fantastic food too.

We were kicked out a day early and told to pay in cash, the owner then cancelled our booking and told booking dot com that we never even stayed there. Popular scam in Sri lanka

Okay location, a little out of the way but only a 10 min walk to busy centre. Comfortable beds, nice and clean and a lovely family who look after the place. Lots of Wildlife around the garden area, especially monkeys.

A swimming pool would be a great investment.

The room was clean and everything was tidy but the bed was in the middle of the room which filled the entire room and there was barely space to move around it. The bathroom on the other hand was spacious and clean and the basic amenities were provided. There was a common pantry area where you could make tea and water etc, which was quite convenient. Before arrival, we were informed about the methods of payment when inquiring. Both cash and card payments are available. Since I didn't have enough cash, I had to pay by card and they explained beforehand that they charge 3% convenient fee. FYI the CBSL (Central Bank of Sri Lanka) explicitly prohibits merchants and has made it illegal to add a 3% surcharge to card transactions.

The room was cramped as the bed filled almost the entire room. There could have been more racks to hang things but then again there's the issue of space.

Gorgeous accommodation, much nicer than we expected or what is pictured. Room was very clean, bathroom was very modern. A bit of a walk to Hiriketiya beach/town but was a nice quiet walk. Wouldn't recommend to walk it solo as it is not central and it is a quiet walk. Would definitely recommend staying here, we liked it so much we extended our stay!

The towels could do with being replaced, they were threadbare but otherwise everything was great!

The rooms were very clean, the staff and the owner very friendly. The rooms had air-conditioning and ceiling fan. The room was equipped with shampoo and body wash with fantastic aroma. There was also filtered water for free. They also provided is with a power adapter

The luck of the sieve in the windows, and I would prefer if more hangers were in the room outside the closet.

Loved how clean & quiet it was. Close to centre of Hiri but just so peaceful. Best sleep I have had on the island. Great communication with host & can tell they really care about the guest experience. Provide great toiletries. Also bathroom was IMMACULATE & smelt clean (zero mould) There was a small kitchenette area with a really powerful fridge / freezer. Great WiFi as well. Safe for solo travellers & families with young kids

Couldn’t find anything major, highly recommend. A small shelf in bathroom would be useful but so minor 🙂
