Anvi Home Stay

The room itself is pretty good. My train was some hours late and checking in in the middle of the night was no problem.

You can hear noise from outside very loudly, especially motorbikes passing by. My room faced the little street in front of the house, the other rooms facing the backside should be better.

Location was great. Quiet street at night, yet close to restaurants, cafes, yoga etc...

During the day there was some construction above. But it didn't interfere with my rest.

The room was basic in terms of facilities, but very clean, spacious and bright. It wasn't too noisy in the morning and the neighbourhood felt safe. You have to walk down the hill a bit to reach the main road, but if you're fit that's a pleasant walk. Ashish and his family are nice and friendly hosts. Ashish was very helpful with luggage, taxi, WIFI... A genuinely kind person. It's very good value for this part of town (Tapovan). Rishikesh is not exactly cheap, compared to other locations in India, because it's so touristic. The positive reviews on here are accurate. Don't let the look of the building's or front gate stop you! The bed was decent, the rooms are really big ( I saw two of them) and super clean - including, bright and spotless bathrooms. There's plenty of hot water at all time - not so common in India!

Nothing. If the owners had the means to invest in renovating or decorating the facade, front gate and stairs, there's little doubt that this place would be (even more) packed with tourists all the time, but then it would probably be a different price.

The booking was super smooth, the staff were really personable and helpful, I arrived in town early and they made the room available so I could rest. The room was big, really clean, and the bathroom had a great hot shower. There was even a little patio outside.

I enjoyed my stay here. The family is really friendly and helpful. The room is spacious, clean and the Wifi is amazing. Also I had hot water all the time.

Homestay was clean and cosy, staff was exceptionally polite and helpful. I enjoyed staying there and can recommend it to other travellers.
