GBI can’t rate Merrifield House enough. It was a perfect stay from start to finish. Donna and Marcus were fabulous hosts, warm and welcoming, going above and beyond. The room we stayed in was IMMACULATE. Beautiful decor and so clean and tidy. The shared snug was a brilliant addition and lovely place to play a game of scrabble and eat meals. There was a fantastic selection of teas and coffees and I was so pleasantly surprised to see decaf tea and soya milk in the fridge (oat milk sachets in our room!) Being lactose intolerant this was such an unexpected pleasure to be catered for.We really would recommend Merrifield House and if we are ever in the area again would love to stay here. Thank you so much Donna and Marcus.
Nothing, everything was perfect.
GBMarcus and Donna are the perfect hosts. Our accommodation was spotlessly clean. The beds are very comfortable and the room has everything you need.
It’s Devon, so to be expected, but the lane to the property is a bit nasty, as in potholes. Not a problem for SUV’s but my little car is low so just had to be very careful.
GBWe loved the warm welcome from the hosts, Donna and Marcus, as well as their thoughtful advice on exploring Devon. The guest house is beautifully set up, with comfortable rooms, lovely fields, great facilities, and a charming garden lodge. It was a perfect fit for us and our dog, who was also warmly welcomed and settled in well.
The only minor downside was that our room door made some noise and vibrated slightly when other doors in the house were closed, but this was acceptable given the overall experience.

GBThe house is in a lovely location, great for walking and enjoying the countryside. The owners were exceptionally helpful and accommodating and the ‘snug’ is well equipped and perfect for relaxing at the end of the day.
