Munroe Heritage Inn

Clean room. They served tasty local breakfast. Good location.

This is a great place to stay, it's relaxing, the hosts are awesome and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Very good value for money. Provided breakfast and dinner, lunch as well if you wanted. There was a bike you could hire for a little trek round the island, and it's a good way to get around the place. I've stayed in a lot of places in India over the last 3 months, and this was one of the best.

Nothing really, but for me it was hot, so a small fridge would have been useful to cool some drinks down. Just an idea. I enjoyed my stay there and was sad to leave Munroe Island.

We had a great stay at Munroe Heritage Inn Homestay. Simple but comfortable and clean rooms. Suresh and his family are so hospitable, kind and great fun! The food was lovely and the island itself is great. We wish we stayed longer.

We had a great stay at Munroe Heritage Inn. The owner was very friendly and wanted to make sure that we experienced the best of Munroe Island. The home cooked meals offered are also delicious and great value. Would stay here again!

Fanstastic food, Very friendly service, we felt part of the family. Suresh went above and beyond to make sure we could enjoy our stay on the island. He took us by motorbike, organised a sunrise canoe ride, kayaks and bikes for us as well as a visit to a thread making factory and rickshaws to the train station. When my son left his wallet in the room he organised a courier to have it sent on to our next destination.

Some information on the booking.com website was incorrect (eg there is no kitchenette or pool) but we have informed Suresh and he will check and update his accommodation information.

Suresh and his lovely family made us so welcome. Their homestay is very comfortable, clean and homely in a perfect position by the waterfront. The traditional Keralean natural food adequate and delicious. Unfortunately the unusual untimely  weather conditions caused by the Bay of Bengal Cyclone meant we were unable to do the sunset canoe trip. However, instead Suresh took us to visit a local church in the woods with panoramic views across the lake. He thoughtfully phoned our daughter who had personally arranged everything with Suresh and showed her where we were. The following sunrise canoe cruise was amazing, the highlight of our stay. Lasting 3 hrs along idyllic narrow backwaters to a picturesque lake quietly watching the abundant wildlife amidst lush vegetation whilst enjoying the solitude.  This homestay on Monroe Island is a MUST VISIT to this unspoilt area. Truly breathtaking.

In a great place close to the river and it is very clean. Surrounded by the beautiful garden and walking distance to eating joint - easy to navigate.

We loved our stay here. It is a true home stay in a beautiful locations, seconds away from a picture perfect river where you can admire the tranquility of the place. The host Suresh Babu is a very kind and welcoming man. He is very proud of his heritage and cannot do enough to make you feel at home. He will ensure your stay is comfortable and will cater for all your needs. His wife cooks the most amazing tasty meals, so make sure you eat at the home stay. It is fantastic value for money and would give this stay 100 if we could. I wish we could have stayed longer to take in more this tranquil location and enjoy heartfelt hospitality of the local folks. Suresh organised a memorable canoeing trip for us and helped with transport bookings. We highly recommend staying here. Thank you Suresh for being such a wonderful host.
