Gungun Homestay

I stayed here for almost a month and it felt just like home! Hemu and the whole family made me feel like part of their family. They are such kind, friendly and accommodating people. Even when I got sick they looked after me like mothers! The room was perfect, so cosy, homely, clean and with all the facilities you need - kitchen, hot water, stove, refrigerator and a lovely outside terrace with plants to sit in the sun. The dinners that the family made were so tasty and was so nice to get some home cooked food whilst travelling! And the location in Tapovan was perfect, it’s in a quiet family area but super close to amazing cafes and a few minute walk from the main road. I couldn’t recommend this homestay more and when I am back in Rishikesh I will definitely be staying here again :)

There were construction noise during all my stay.

Pocket friendly. Good hospitality. Friendly hosts. Good food. They even offer room service. It was like home away from home.

Auto or taxi was not able to reach door step.

Very friendly & kind owner and they provide tasty food all the times. Location is ok. lit bit need to walk. Good Hospitality, neat and clean. They are keeping many plants in the open terrace it feels very good and maintaining well.

Narrow road, but its walkable from Swami shivananda Memorial Government inter college, It just 2min walks.

We loved everything about this beautiful homestay. It was hard to leave for a little one and there have been few tears on her little face on the way to the train station as she wanted to stay there. It was exceptional, clean and warm homestay with beautiful family and amazing homemade food which will be also missing.

I booked two rooms. But they had only one room for us. The arranged another room in a different building but overall it was distressing and the hosts were very unprofessional Basic supplies like soap were missing

Lovely owners. Very helpful. Food they cooked for me was terrific.

The have two dogs. One is lovely the other is not. They are able to confine the dogs to the top floor but during my stay they were occasionally free in areas I'd have to traverse. I was threatened by the 'bad' dog on 3 occasions. I'm a long time dog lover and owner. I don't believe the owners understand just how dangerous the 'bad' dog is. They hit it when I was aggressively challenged. Not a good training technique. I liked staying at Gungun but if I did so again I would negotiate that the 'bad' dog was confined to the top floor unless on a leash. I'd also strongly recommend behavioural training.

We had all meals there. There was more choise than from menu. Cooking was great! Owners are very friendly and sweet.

We liked everything there. We hope to get back next year.
