Munroe Coconut Homestay

Everything. The layout of the Homestay is aesthetically pleasing; a rather quirky combination of rooms, a dining area, balconies, and verandahs. My bedroom and bathroom were just the right size, immaculately clean, and had everything I would wish for. I was especially pleased to have a clothes rack, the mattress and pillows were very comfortable, and the bedding impressively clean. The two large windows let in plenty of light, and gave views of luscious greenery. There were net curtains as well as the traditional fabric type. Towels, soap, and toilet paper were provided, as was an extra bucket when I asked for one. Fresh drinking water was available in the dining area. Uni and his family were charming, polite, friendly, and kind. Uni was especially helpful with information, as well as snippets of Indian culture and cuisine. He speaks perfect English, and pays great attention to detail when serving his guests in the dining area. The location is peaceful and private, and the nights reminiscent of my childhood in England, when absolutely nothing disturbed my sleep.

Lovely homestay with super nice staff, run by a lovely family. Uni is so kind and friendly and can’t do enough for you. It’s on a quiet street and the room was really spacious with a nice e bathroom. Great boat trips into the mangroves!

Nothing really. Mattress a little hard for me, that’s all. Also it was very hot even with 2 fans going in my room, would recommend booking the AC option.

Super chambre, spacieuse, ventilée par un fan, de quoi ranger ses affaires, propre et agréable! Le petit dejeuner et les repas étaient variés et excellents, les sunrise et sunset en pirogue étaient juste géniaux, des moments paisibles, suspendus, j’ai adoré! Unni et sa famille sont adorables, c’etait genial!

Umi and his family. Super welcoming, knowledgeable, adaptable. Beautiful location down a quiet road. We hired bikes and explored for a few days. The morning backwater tour with Umi or his father are a must!

C’est un endroit merveilleux avec des chambres spacieuses, et très propres, des repas exceptionnels préparés par la maman. Ils sont copieux et variés. De l’eau filtrée est mise à disposition. Des sorties pirogues sont organisés au lever et au coucher du soleil avec le fils ou le père. Je ne peux que recommander cet endroit !
