The homestay itself is very unique and beautiful. It's even better than the images. We loved our host, who gave us recommendations and helped us whenever we needed it, and she also shared some very interesting history with us.

Nothing to say here since everything was perfect.

A peaceful place, with lovely hosts and cats. The traditionally built bamboo room was very spacious and had everything you need.

The place is a quiet oasis in Yen Bai. Go there if you travel in the region. The homestay is lovely, home to a family of cats, amazing coffee, a great breakfast, and just outright gorgeous decoration. You will not regret it.

"Green oasis"

10.0

It is an oasis in the middle of a city, relaxed atmosphere, green everywhere it feels like you’re in a mountain hostel but you’re close enough on a walking distance to some places to eat. There’s not too much to do in this area but the Thac Ba lake, that probably in a few years will be a highlight in the country, and some other activities they offer, also they rent motorbikes. Awesome chill place to rest, I booked one night but ended up staying four, they offered me to upgrade my room for a bit extra money and the difference of the quality was enormous, big room, huge bed with AC, lovely areas to chill with good wifi everywhere. They speak good English. I could spend a whole week there but unfortunately I had to go. Last day the guy and me had an interesting conversation about the tea trees in Vietnam that I really appreciate as he told me many curiosities about it. Also there’re cats everywhere they all look the same but if not wrong he said there’s around 15 cats + babies.

Toilets are roofless so you can hear everything but that wasn’t really an issue.

The Bun Cha was delicious and their coffee was amazing :). We were looked after extremely well and made to feel right at home. If you're looking for a relaxing stay with great staff I couldn't recommend this place any more. I would suggest hiring bikes as nothing is quite walking distance in terms of activities.

A calm retreat from the traffic on the Red River. I particularly appreciated the tea from the onsite cafe - a simple thing, but really helps you relax. They do it so well

"The perfect place to begin exploring Yen Bai and relaxing in the evening afterwards."

10.0

First, the facilities: absolutely beautiful traditionally built bamboo houses which come with amenities such as a hot water shower and clean water toilets. The house is surrounded by a tranquil well maintained garden that is hidden from the rest of the busy town that lets you relax on the various garden patios in peace. The place also sells e.g. Coffee, smoothies and breakfast, which all I found good. All facilities were in super clean condition which I liked alot as well. Second, the staff: they were incredibly polite and helpful. The lady working at the place speaks good english and knows a lot about what to do in the region, including bus transport, good restaurants, and sightseeing. It is also possible to rent a scooter for e.g. Daytrips. Personally I booked the scooter to go see Thac Ba lake, and it was one of the highlights of my trip in Viet Nam. For me Yen Bai and the surrounding region were a great pitstop when travelling from Sapa to Hanoi. The areas are beautiful and the town itself is interesting for exploring for an afternoon / full day. It is also not visited by many tourists, which made it an authentic experience of rural Viet Nam for me (especially after the crowded Sapa). However, with so few tourists, there is not much information on anything, no scooter rentals on the street, and no tour guides. This is why I was so pleased about staying at Dinh Gia Trang while at Yen Bai; not only was the accomodation pleasant, but also the helpful staff gave me recommendations and guidance which unlocked the full potential of visiting the otherwise unknown region.

"Wonderful facilities - great value."

Well run facility with great room. Our was a traditional building but it had been lined with glass to keep the temperature and cut down on the city noise.
