Finca Tres Equis - Farm and Forest

A large 850 acres (350 hectares) property with a road all the way to Pacuare river, a couple trails. A "hidden gem" is a 10 ft waterfall with a small swimming pool. A spectacular early morning view of Turrialba volcano. Most memorable was a night tour to the natural pond and the "Frog singing concert" with an most knowledgeable and friendly host. A walk to the river and the waterfall took me exactly 4 hours (about 11 km). There are several good-looking horses on the property, the horse rides (which I have not tried), a petting zoo, a large swing atop a hill. I lived in a "tent", which is, actually an extremely well-equipped tent. I have been to 66 countries and have stayed in a couple dozen B&Bs and lodges in Costa Rika. This is the first time that I am giving a 10, mostly for the quiet, proximity to nature and the ambiance of the host.

Great location with a 4km jungle walk to a river. Was our first sleeping spot in CR and immediately saw 2 tucans. Great (large) breakfast. Our cabin was very big, and we enjoyed the complimentary coffee from beans from the local farm.

Close to a road, so sometimes a bit noisy.
