Finca Tres Equis - Farm and Forest

breakfast was delicious and very filling; the cabin was an awesome accommodation with lots of space, beds and kitchenette; the land is amazing with wildlife at night and you can walk the trail; fireflies at night were amazing; great place to start the rafting trip

the only issue was the noise all night long from trucks using their air brakes down the hill, and to a lesser extent the many roosters in the morning; bring ear plugs

We stayed in the tent and it was a fantastic experience, very comfortable and equipped with all you need (strong lights, a powerbank, wifi, safety deposit box, coffee maker with their own coffee,...). The property is easy to reach and was a perfect stop on our way from the carribbean coast to Quetzales Nationalpark. The tent is very quiet and you have an amazing view from there. Alfonso, the owner is very friendly and gave us many information how to best enjoy his hugh Finca. There are a lot of things to do and see and it would make sense to stay for a couple of nights. We spotted many nice birds from the tent and by walking around and also went to their pont at night which was a unique experience. Also the giant swing was really fun!

Wonderful location in the middle of the nature. The people are really friendly and helpful. The horse riding trip there was just awesome, too! I can absolutely recommend this place.

what is perfect stay to acclimatize to Costa Rica time. a really friendly and helpful staff, just a nice place on your way to the Caribbean coast. loved it!

We liked every moment spending on this finca , walking between cacao and coffe plantations, hiking to river and waterfall, enjoying the copious breakfast. The owner, Alfonso is an exceptional helpfully host and a man with a big heart .We stayed three nights and truly regret we could nt remain more.

The facilites were awesome and the view was spectacular. The property is very big and you can explore it to your hearts content. The staff is super nice and attentive.

In the midst of nature, secluded, quiet, laid back. Excellent for bird watching, jumping off point for river rafting. Alfonso was so detail oriented and did everything to ensure we enjoyed the property to our tastes.

Amazing, fantastic, wonderful. We only booked for 2 nights before going Whitewater rafting, we loved it so much we ended up staying an extra 3 nights. Breakfast was lovely. Our host Alfonso was amazing, he really looked after us. It was fun not having electricity makes you realise that you don’t need a lot. Loved feeding the animals and driving down to the river. We would go back . Thank you Alfonso.

Alfonso is a great host with a big heart who really takes care that you have a nice stay, also his team is super friendly and welcoming. The farm is huge & beautiful - you could spend at least two days only hiking & exploring. There are coffee and cacao plantations, farm land with animals (like horses, goats, chicken), a big river, rainforest with waterfall, several view points…pure nature!

Stayed here the night before we went white water rafting but wished we had stayed 2 nights. The lodge was immaculate with everything you would need for your stay. We were allowed to explore the land owned by Alfonso and spotted so much wildlife on our short stay. The fireflies were magical. There is also a difficult hike to a waterfall which was great, but be warned, it is steep! Alfonso made us feel very welcome and you can tell he’s passionate about conservation.
