Beautiful room in best location for the famous sights. Very loving and caring family with amazing Sri Lankan breakfast. Unique experience

We had a nice stay at Mellow! Pretty quiet place just outside the buzz of Ella. Breakfasts were superb, the best ones we had during our trip in Sri Lanka. The room was clean yet good value for what you pay.

Ella is a very hilly and sloped city. We chose Mellow Homestay due to its proximity to Ella Railway station and also the fact that it was less than 10 minutes walk to access the main street. If you have mobility issues, I do recommend just hailing a tuk-tuk, but from what we have seen-- this location is better than other places that are situated further uphill. We stayed in the deluxe triple room which can only be accessed by going up a steep set of stairs. Please note that you may hear monkeys up on the tin roof at night time 😅 This should not be a problem if you are staying in the standard room downstairs. We enjoyed our afternoon cup of tea with cookies as well as breakfast. Host is very friendly and accomodating.

The road is quite narrow-- better to get around by scooter or tuk-tuk than by car

Fantastic room in this Homestay with the most amazing view of Ella rock. The family that run it are delightful and the breakfast was great. Especially the tea. Could not recommend this place more!

This homestay is in a very peaceful area, a short walk away from the busy centre of Ella. The host made us feel very welcome and went out of her way to help us. The room is light, comfortable and very clean with a very pleasant shady terrace with many plants. We had breakfast and dinner most days and the food was delicious. All freshly prepared by our host, in very generous quantities with a variety of Sri Lankan dishes. It was very nice after a busy day to have dinner served on your private terrace! The homestay is a great place to relax and unwind and the host and her family are very friendly and helpful but not intrusive. There is also a very reasonably priced laundry service.

We had a very pleasant stay. The room was basic but had everything we needed, and we enjoyed spending time on the terrace. The location is within walking distance to the center with all the restaurants, as well as the Nine Arches Bridge and Little Adam’s Peak. It’s situated in a very quiet area. The owner was a kind and welcoming woman, which made our stay even better.

Lovely terrace to eat our meals on. Great location, a short walk to town and on the right side to get to Little Adam’s Peak! Our host was really kind and helpful, nothing was too much bother and to top it all an amazing cook!

We stayed here only one night, wish we could have stayed longer. Our room was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. Shower facility was excellent with good hot water pressure, and the bathroom floor has non slippery flooring, which was unique for us in Sri Lanka. The patio and garden is quiet and beautiful. The location is excellent as it is close to city centre but very quiet. The lady who runs the place is very friendly and helped us with anything we needed
