Tourist Pension

We loved everything about our stay with Rajesh and his family. They couldn't have given us a warmer welcome, and we immediately felt like part of the family! Our room was beautiful and very comfortable, and we had everything we could have possibly needed. The food was wonderful; all home-cooked, including delicious homemade jams, butter, bread and yoghurt for breakfast, and gorgeous, seasonal vegetarian cooking for dinner. We especially loved our tours of the incredibly beautiful and atmospheric painted havelis and the nearby countryside with Rajesh (with added stops for the best chai and jalebi!). His deep passion for and knowledge about local heritage shines brightly, and it was a joy to spend time with him. We also absolutely loved the cooking class we took with Sarla. It was super informative while also being really great fun, and we are looking forward to trying out our new skills at home! We can't recommend the Tourist Pension highly enough. We were genuinely sorry to leave and very much hope to visit again!

Nothing, everything was wonderful!!

The family was so adorable, and helped me a great deal when I was ill and really needed help. They went well out of their way for me, right from when they met me at the station to when they dropped me off for my onward train. The room is very clean and comfortable, and the decor in the house is very appealing. Everything could not have been better. Thank you again!

The breakfast was wonderful...

A fantastic family alltogether which makes you feel at home. If we arrived to India in New Delhi and later went to Jaipur, we only had the feeling to really enter India with the Jangid Family. Rajesh and his son Tushar didn't spare a minute to show us the rural life style of Shekhawati, to open the doors of the most beautiful havelis and hidden sites in the area. The cooking classes in the evening where just the "cherry on the top" granting a glimpse at the succulent indian cuisine with all the spices and flavours. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a inside view of India !

Amazing experience living in a big house with Rajesh and his family. His wife cooks delicious and varied local dishes using fresh vegetables grown in the area. Rajesh limits his visitors to a small handful at a time so living here is an intimate experience and a great way to meet other travellers. Rajesh has such a passion for the Shekawati region and runs very informative tours to the greenest and most beautiful parts of countryside and to some of the less touristed (but no less beautiful) havelis.

Rajesh was a warm and welcoming host, who was generous with his knowledge, time and hospitality. Staying at Tourist Pension has been a highlight of our time in India. The rooms were lovely and comfortable and the food was so fresh and delicious- made with love. Thank you for having us at your home.

This is definitely the best spot to explore the region. Rajesh and his family have been really helpful and give precious advice. The food was great and I really enjoyed having pani purris there.

This was a superb place to stay, the room was colourful without being over the top and very comfortable to be in especially on exceedingly hot afternoons. The freshly cooked meals were delicious and worth the stay alone. The best part was Rajesh who welcomed me and took me on a walking tour through Nawalgarh and then to a small nearby town in his jeep. He also took me to the best street food I ever had. I really enjoyed his passion and humour and knowledge. And, his collection of Royal Enfield's! DON'T STAY ANYWHERE ELSE!

Rajesh and his family welcomed us in their beautiful house. the experience has been very nice. we really enjoyed taking time with the family and sharing about our life. we took a cooking class and breakfast: all homemade with heart ! we highly recommend Tourist pension !

An incredible place, Rajesh and his family were wonderful hosts - friendly, engaging and helpful with recommendations (Rajesh even drove me to a nearby village he was visiting to let me look around). The homestay was wonderfully clean, and made for a great base to explore Nawalgarh. Vegetarian meal options are available - just be sure to give the family advance notice if you want to eat with them for a particular meal, as they’ll start the cooking a few hours in advance.
