Sigiri Siesta Homestay

Sigiri Siesta Homestay was an amazing place to stay in Sigiriya and truly felt like a home away from home. Mahesh and his wife are wonderful hosts—very warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything you need. The room and bathroom were spacious, very clean, and comfortable, making the stay relaxing after long days of exploring. Breakfast was one of the highlights, with delicious local food and plenty of options served fresh every morning. Mahesh also organizes a great cycling tour around the village and nearby areas, which is highly recommended if you want to explore local life and scenery. The property is located in a peaceful, quiet area, yet still very convenient—about a 10-minute walk (around 1 km) to the main road where you’ll find many cafés, restaurants, and shops. So you get the best of both worlds: calm surroundings while staying close to everything. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Sigiriya. I would definitely stay here again.

I spent 3 nights in this fabulous place. It’s not far from the village (about 30 minutes), and the road to get there is really nice. The room is clean and spacious, and there is hot water for the shower! This family touched my heart with their kindness and generosity. Just don’t hesitate to stay here if you are planning to go to Sigiriya!

Chambre super propre, avec une climatisation et une grande salle de bain avec de l’eau chaude. Le propriétaire, sa femme sont super gentils. Lors de notre arrivée, nous avons reçu un jus de fruit. Ils sont disponibles pour donner des conseils (notamment pour faire des massages ayurvediques sans tomber dans les attrapes touristes). Les petits-déjeuners étaient délicieux également et copieux ! Un énorme merci à eux!

La chambre est super grande avec un lit incroyablement confortable ! Très propre. Et surtout Mahesh et sa femme ont été incroyablement gentils et attentionnés. Je suis arrivée tard et il pleuvait des cordes. Je n’avais pas eu le temps de manger et Mahesh a tout fait pour que je puisse manger - il a appelé un restau du coin et est allé chercher pour moi. Je n’ai pu rester qu’une nuit mais nous sommes restés en contact et il m’a aidé à trouver un super massage ayurvedique. Bref je recommande beaucoup cet Homestay !!

Super friendly host with a lovely family. He helped us organize a nice safari to the Hurulu Eco Park. Dinner and breakfast was great and super delicious. Location is more quite but you can still walk to the Lion rock.

The family was very welcoming, they helped us plan not just Sigiriya stay but gave us suggestions about our further stay in Sri Lanka. They welcomed us as a part of the family and gave us amazing drinks and breakfast. The beds were also very big and so comfortable so we had the best sleep here.

Homestay très agréable ! Chambre spacieuse, propre, avec une literie confortable et une moustiquaire bien pratique. Le petit déjeuner est excellent, varié et typiquement sri lankais, un vrai régal. L’emplacement est idéal, à proximité du centre de Sigiriya et de quelques restaurants, facilement accessible en tuktuk ou en voiture. L’établissement est situé à 3km du rocher du lion (facile à faire à pied). L’hôte est d’une grande gentillesse, très accueillant, ce qui donne une belle atmosphère familiale. Nous avons passé un super séjour, je recommande à 100% !

Alojamiento muy limpio y cómodo. Los desayunos estupendos y el dueño del hotel muy servicial y atento, nos ayudó a organizar actividades. Si quieres visitar sigiriya es el mejor lugar donde te puedes quedar.

Mahesh ha sido muy amable y atento en todo momento con nosotros. También su familia es muy encantadora. Nos dieron la bienvenida con un zumo, que lo agradecimos. Nos ayudó a contratar tuk tuk, safari, etc. La habitación amplia y limpia. Algo retirado del centro, pero merece la pena alojarse aquí.

Nos gustó todo, las habitaciones con colchones y almohadas cómodas. El cuarto de baño y la ducha bien, limpios y bastante nuevos. Como en bastantes sitios de Sri Lanka hay habitaciones con A/C y sin el. El aire tiene un pequeño suplemento pero se puede dormir con el ventilador del techo. Desayuno típico del lugar, con fruta. bueno y raciones buenas. También preparan cenas, excursiones, etc... Buena comunicacion RECOMENDABLE 100%. Si volveríamos a SLK, sería allí.
