The Bike House

Beautiful little place right in the heart of Ipanema. Ricardo the host is super friendly and helpful. You can easily walk to Copacabana or Ipanema and are close to restaurants and supermarkets. We felt very at home here.

The owner was super friendly and very helpful, location was great as a first timer in Rio de Janeiro. Very safe and friendly and always lively and busy area.

The host who talked with me was not there when I checked in, which caused some problem. I didn't have towels for the first night. I spent some time to find how to park by myself. The air condition was extremely loud and I could barely sleep. Can only accept cash so I had to search for bank to get money from my debit card.

Ricardo is a good guy and recommend him as a host 100%. He is always there to answer your question and is helpful. You can also rent bikes through him. I wouldn’t recommend the accommodation because for a private room you don’t have privacy at all. a hostel is on the opposite side and you can hear them almost all the time so it feels like you are staying in that hostel. The window is very thin and next to the window is hammock which everyone can used so the owner and other guests sometimes chilling there and can hear everything from your room. The kitchen is clean because the owner also lives there. The location is close to the beach and to every supermarket. I had better accommodations in ipanema for a cheaper price. Because of the owner and the location I would not give a bad review but I would not stay there again.

I felt very welcome and Ricardo made sure to be there for anything I needed. The room was small but it had everything I needed. The facilities were great, a clean and well functioning shower and toilet.

Loved this place! The interior has lots of paintings- there is common spaces inside and outside. There’s not too many guests so it’s never crowded and you don’t have to wait for bathrooms. The place is very secure, I felt safe the whole time. Ricardo is the best and was super helpful. There’s lots of kitchen space. The room had so much storage/shelves for putting my things. It was a heatwave while I was there but each room has AC and fans. The location is amazing and a short walk to the beach. I really liked the super market across the street. The WiFi was also very fast. I would stay here again and recommend to everyone I know. Thank you!

Warm welcome, incredible location, excellent communication, lovely little place. Excellent value for money. Fridge space and filtered water was really helpful. Such a gem!
