Dawn View Home Stay

We had an absolutely amazing stay in Ella! The accommodation is perfectly located high up in the hills, offering breathtaking views over the surrounding nature. Everything was spotless and had all the amenities we needed, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Dawn is incredibly kind and welcoming – he gave us so many great tips for places to visit and was always happy to help whenever we needed anything. The breakfasts he prepared for us were simply fabulous: generous, delicious, and the perfect way to start the day. Highly recommended!

The best thing about the property is the amazing host. He is able to arrange tuk tuks at good prices., taxis, instructions for finding tourist hotspots and is very responsive. The property is beautiful with a great view.

Great view, clean!

Amazing view, super helpful staff who helped us organise tuk tusks and a cooking class on a rainy day. The breakfast here was the best we had on our travels in Sri Lanka, and right on the balcony overlooking the gorgeous views. Lots of information provided upon arrival of how to walk to town and things to do.

The weather was bad when we were there so the room was slightly cold but the host was more than happy to provide an extra blanket. Location slightly out of the way but this meant better views and it was easy to organise a tuk tuk even in bad rain.

We had a great stay at the Dawn view. The host is extremely friendly and attentive. The room is fully renovated and the bathroom is clean and spacious. The host offers a delicious breakfast that we enjoyed on our balcony. Yes the room is located above Ella city centre, but there is a great shortcut along the railway tracks and you can always grab an affordable Tuktuk to bring you home in the evening. The host was very helpful with organizing transport when needed. All in all a perfect stay for us!

A great stay with stunning views from the room and an excellent host. We loved staying here. Dawn is a fantastic host, warm, brought some tea when we arrived, gave us very clear, easy to follow instructions for the walking route to Ella - 10 mins on the rail tracks. Gave us an excellent recommendation for food (Mateys Hut) and clear instructions to Ella Rock (which were very much needed). The room was spacious, clean, comfy and had a good mosquito net. The bathroom was also spacious and clean. The lack of air con was not a problem. The highlight was sitting on the comfy chairs relaxing outside the room on the terrace and watching the monkeys in the trees and looking out at the stunning views. Even in the heavy rain it was relaxing and beautiful. Great waking up to sunrise the next morning. It is steep getting to it but it’s worth it for the stunning views and you can still walk to town in 10 minutes.
