Orchha Best Homestay

- hot shower - very clean - calm and good location, walkable distance to all sights - breakfast and dinner were freshly prepared and very delicious thali - lovely host family

We had a great stay at this family-owned homestay in Orchha. They were very kind and waited for us even though our train was delayed. They also helped arrange transportation for us. The breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend!

The host and his son were really friendly and helpful. They offer several rooms of the house, small but comfy. The rooms look rather basic, but have everything you need - also a hot shower. The price for the room is very good. You can order dinner and breakfast in the homestay, which tastes good. The homestay is located in a parallel street to the main road close a gate.

The bedmatress was superhard and quite short (with a wooden lower bed end). This bed is not made for big people. In the bathroom there was a Ventillation, which was running all the time, but I was bearable with closed doors. Probably the ventillation is constsntly running, because of the regional humidity in this region. After 6:30am in the morning there is no sleep possible due to the noise on the streets - days start eary there. There was no bed blanket, only a woolen cover. There were ants in the room - do not let food open.

Extremely hospitable owner and family, couldn't do more for us even waiting up until 2:30am as our train was delayed and coming to find us on a motorbike when our tuk tuk driver couldn't find the address. The home cooked food was delicious, you need to factory in a wait for the cooking time so order in advance but it's worth it. Room was clean and comfortable. Walking distance to fort and main tourist attractions

Friendly, attentive customer service. The father and son were very helpful and made everything easy during my stay. The chai was especially nice! The room itself was a good size and spotless. Overall, I thought it was excellent value. A decent base for visiting Orchha, as the town centre was within 5-10 minutes walk.

It was fine for me but the location of the homestay is a little bit away from the town centre in a residential area that is not that well lit at night. Possibly female solo travellers might feel more comfortable staying somewhere a bit more central.
