Nethanya Homestay

We stayed only 2 nights but we wish we could stay a little longer. The host Anoja and her wonderful family have always a smile on their faces and are so welcoming. The room was spotless, we slept so well: the mattress and pillows were so comfortable and our privacy was respected at all times. Very peaceful location, nested away from the noisy centre of Ella but only 10 min walk, and very close to the train station. Strongly recommended!

The owners were so nice and hospitable. The room is moderately sized with a private bathroom. Both were clean. Slightly moldly, but for the price it was fine. I left my stuff out on the balcony and nobody even touched it, which I really appreciated. Catered to my every need. Also location is great. 5 min walk from the center and yet very quiet

The place is a tiny alleyway so a lot of people might be scared to walk there at night but I didn't feel unsafe at all. Also it gets very dark at night but I left the light in the balcony on so it wasn't a problem for me.

Steps down to the building are challenging, you should be stable on foot, pillows had a strange stell

the perfect balance of convenience and tranquility. It’s located near both the train station and the village, making it easy to get around, yet it’s tucked away in a peaceful, green area, which provides a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle. The bed was comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep, and the terrace was a lovely spot to unwind and enjoy the surroundings. While the shower took a little time to warm up, it wasn’t a big issue for me. Overall, a comfortable and peaceful stay in an ideal location!

The host is very nice. The location is just a 5 Minute walk to the train station and 10 Minuten walk to the Center. Therefore it is a quiet place to stay. Laundry is 500/kg which is okay.

Very nice place and extremely friendly family. I can recommend this place a lot.

Our female host was very friendly and helped us a lot. The room was spacious and very clean. The veranda was very spacious and provided shadow. It is only a small walk to the center. Noises of the city was barely heard.

The frogs are quite loud at night which did not bother us.

The host was so friendly and warm, we instantly felt right at home! She was super helpful and made us cupcakes and tea. Was very clean and in a great location, perfectly tucked in the jungle but only a couple minutes walk from the centre. Would definitely recommend Nethanya Homestay, our favourite accommodation in Sri Lanka. We were sad to leave!

The host is definitely friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I would like to give this homestay scores 10 in the beginning. They even managed to find a scooter for me. However, my meal offered by the host at the last night was too expensive. A traditional local vegetarian food only for one person cost me 2500LKR !
