Misty Mount Homestay

Very good location, close to Little Adams peak and Nine arches bridge.

Staff were understanding to our early departure.

We checked in for a 4-night stay but had to leave after the 1st night due to the sheets, mattress and pillow being damp. The dampness also extended to our bags and contents before we left on the 2nd day. Mould was present on the ceiling and walls.

The owner was so helpful. As their house is on top of the hill he carried our luggage from the parking. Great location for Little Adam’s Peak hike for sunrise as it is only 20 minutes away from it. The same goes for Nine Arch Bridge. He provides Multiplug for better charging the devices.

The washroom Carpet needs to change.

The best thing of Misty Mount is the family host, they were so welcoming, warm and always there to help you. By far the best place we have been in Sri Lanka. The homestay is close to the city center but in a quiet road, close to the beginning of some hikings. The bathroom had hot water what was amazing because the weather was a little cold and the room was wide and clean. The family were always giving us a yummy tea.

This HomeStay had a lovely, quiet location that was just perfect to visit Ella - a short 10 minute-walk from the bustling town. The family here were absolutely beautiful and instantly on hand with any questions or concerns we had! Very attentive.

Unfortunately you do get what you pay for. The room could benefit from an update. There was a lack of ventilation within the room/bathroom which lead to some mould in the room, and a strong musty damp smell. We left with chesty coughs. The sheets were clean, but the floor and bathroom needed a deep clean. Please also note that it is a very steep bank to get to the property.
